    Hello,

Our website running the Classico theme has become very slow and it is impossible to access the backend. Our hosts have confirmed it is not a server configuration issue and have asked us to check the theme.

More info in the private section.

    Could you please help?

    Thanks

    Rob

Thought I’d get an email back so I could reply and attach an image of error message.

Anyway, here’s an example of the error messages received.

Warning: require(/home/starmelaco/public_html/wp-content/themes/classico/in/custom-header.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/starmelaco/public_html/wp-content/themes/starmela/functions.php on line 503

Warning: require(): Failed opening required ‘/home/starmelaco/public_html/wp-content/themes/classico/in/custom-header.php’ (include_path=’:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/starmelaco/public_html/wp-content/themes/starmela/functions.php on line 503

Sorry the email arrived quite long after your reply.

Additional error messages we now get include:

Warning: require_once(/home/starmelaco/public_html/wp-content/themes/classico/framework/helpers.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/starmelaco/public_html/wp-content/themes/starmela/framework/init.php on line 37

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/home/starmelaco/public_html/wp-content/themes/classico/framework/helpers.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/starmelaco/public_html/wp-content/themes/starmela/framework/init.php on line 37

    Thanks

    Rob

    Hello,

As I see now your site is loading fine without any errors.
Also check this test result page http://www.webpagetest.org/result/160324_TS_KJQ/1/details/
As you can see slow loading is caused by some plugins and you need to update the required plugins https://www.8theme.com/download-plugins/ to the latest versions.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Hello Eva,

Thank you very much. I will check updates to those plugins.

Did you do anything to the theme to stop those errors appearing? Just so we can diagnose the issue and prevent a repeat.

    Thanks,

    Rob

    Hello,

We didn’t do anything regarding the errors.
    Are they fixed now?

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Hi Eva,

It seems the errors were as a result of a mod security rule issue on the server, which has now been fixed by our host.

    Thank you for your help.
