I am trying to create a full page like this, I was able to configure it own my own in the past but my website was deleted so I am starting from scratch. I would like the page to look like this:

(1 column with the ability to use text etc and 1 column with my photo)

But when I set 2 columns it comes out like this with a transparent background:
