Hi there,
I installed the Royal theme and am building a new site. I am having issues with the HOME page. When I choose the option for static page, and for instance I chose ABOUT US just to test it, I still see the same generic page and nothing has changed. I still see a blank slider area and 3 service page placeholders. I have tried following the instructions on the page to go to Customizer (used the link provided in the page) and I don’t see the options it is suggesting I should. For instance, it says “Go to Customizer and click royal Options => Home => Service Section #1 and select page from dropdown page list.”
When I click on Customizer all I see are: Theme Name, Site Edentity, Menus, Widget and Static Front Page.
When I choose a page, it still shows the default page, as mentioned. If I switch to ‘latest posts’ it does change the page but this isn’t what I want.
How can I get rid of this sample page and have it go to the page I really want?
Thank you,
Holly

Hello,
I’ve set “About Us” page as front page in Settings > Reading.
Please check it.

This didn’t fix my problem. Maybe you didn’t understand me correctly. When you assign any page to be the home page in settings, it adds in some placeholder content and I need to get rid of it.
Here is what ends up populating for any page I make the Home Page via the settings/reading:
http://diamondorthoticlab.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/screen-shot.jpg
A placeholder slide shows up and some placeholders for Service Page 1, etc. With links to a customizer. Which the customizer doesn’t have the options the instructions say. Regardless, I don’t want any of this as my home page.
This is what the About Us page actually is supposed to look like:
http://diamondorthoticlab.com/about-us/ This changed to what the screen shot looked like when you assigned it to be the home page, as does any page I assign to be the home page.
When I tell it to use Home as the home page all that miscellaneous stuff comes up and the page doesn’t display as I want it to. I just need to get rid of this other content.

Ok – here it is…
Hello,
The reason is you have index.html file in your site folder http://storage5.static.itmages.com/i/16/0824/h_1472046332_9768366_1e43fce6de.png , by default index.html is loading first. You need remove it or rename it. After that your WordPress page will load.

I moved the site and there is no longer an html file with the wordpress site – I am still getting all that placeholder stuff and not the page I want to show.
Hello,
Not all files were moved. For example wp-includes folder is missing. Please check it attentively and restore your site as now it’s giving an error http://storage5.static.itmages.com/i/16/0825/h_1472109671_4621407_b0df94e99e.png .

I am aware… I am currently working on reinstalling wordpress and the template and all plug-ins into the new directory. I will see if that fixes the problem. If not, I will let you know.
Hello,
Ok, looking forward to your reply.
Best regards,
Jack Richardson.
I probably wont be done until tomorrow afternoon (PST). It’s 1:15am here and I don’t think I can finish tonight. But I will definitely let you know if this improves anything.
Hello,
That’s ok. We’ll wait for your notification.
Best regards,
Jack Richardson.
Looks like the home page is showing the content I put in there and not the placeholder content any more. I think we might be good here.
Hello,
That’s great.
Have a nice day.
