Hello
I checked the documentation for the XStore theme and there is no description of how to set social media links to be used with the [share]
shortcode.
Please advise?
Doing a search on here only came up with answers relating to the Classico theme and advice on setting in a particular php file. no details on how to actually accomplish this with the child-theme.
One suggestion to the developers… please add options in the 8Theme Options for settings social media links to be used with this shortcode.
Regards
Hello,
You can’t change links if you use [share] shortcode. You can only enable or disable share icons in Theme Options http://prntscr.com/cbq2mc
If you just want to add icons with links to your social accounts use Social Links VC element http://prntscr.com/cbq378

Hi Olga
OK, understood. In the glasses demo is a static block named ‘Top Panel’, which is for a drop-down section above the header. It uses the share
tag, but when you look at the icons produced, they do not indicate they are for sharing, the natural assumption is that the icons are for visiting the social media pages, not sharing. you guys should take a look as its confusing to the visitor.
Thanks
In addition to my above comments…
I have used the Social Links VC element as you kindly suggested. Where do I change the set colours for the buttons produced please? Since the buttons I am settings are within the ‘top panel’ of the site, they need to be a different colour to the default colours. Within the VC element for social links, I am only able to specify a limited number of variables (colourful, filled, size), but I can’t actually change the icon colours and background fill colours, unless these are specified elsewhere?
Kind regards
One more thing… When the site is loaded, the ‘top panel’ is initially hidden. An arrow pointing downwards can be clicked on to view the top panel. When you hover over this arrow, the word “Top Panel” is displayed. Please can you advise me how I can change the wording to something else like “Support”?

Hello,
Ok, thank you for your suggestion.
Unfortunately, Social icons element does not have options to change these colors. We could help you to change them by additional customization. Provide the link to your site in Private Content area and tell me what colors do you want to use for bg and for icon. I’ll send you custom code.
To change “Top Panel” title you can use translation files. Do you need detailed explanation about this?
Regards
Hello Olga
Sorry for delay. Yes, would still like to know how to replace the words “Open Panel” (previous XStore version ‘Top Panel’). I have never used translation files, so have no idea what these are to be honest.
Furthermore, I am surprised that since my posts, a couple of new versions of the theme have been released and still no way to change these words. They are certainly not very user-friendly terms and are not suitable for end-users who visit the site.
Everything in a theme should be easily changed in some way, especially text that appears on a site. This needs closer attention by your development team.

Hello,
Yes, you are right, user should have option to change the texts that’s why we create translation files https://www.8theme.com/demo/docs/xstore/#translation
You need to install Loco Translate plugin, and create translation, for example xstore-en_GB.po/.mo if you have UK localization or xstore-en_US.po/.mo if US. And then you’ll be able to change all the strings that our theme has.
