Hi,
I couple of months ago you guys created a child theme so that future theme updates would not overwrite all the translations we made in Loco Translate. Now I updated the theme and the translations are overwritten and went back to english.
Can you help and tell what I am doing wrong? I follow your guides for updating. But the theme still overwrites the childthemes translations.
Thanks 🙂
Hello,
Have you updated child theme or parent theme?
Please provide FTP credentials.

Eva Kemp.
Hi Eva,
I updated the parent theme.
Hello,
I suppose you updated the theme deleting old “royal” folder and uploaded a new version, didn’t you?
But you should overwrite old folder, don’t delete it.
Now you need copy your translation files from the child theme to wp-content/themes/royal/languages directory. Please do this.
Regards,
Eva Kemp.
Hi,
Oh boy.. Sorry..
Well I copied the files to the wp-content/themes/royal/languages directory but it did not work. Do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks 🙂
Hello,
I’ve updated your translation files. Clear browser cache and check the site.
Please note in future you need just overwrite old theme folder, don’t delete it, so you translation files will be kept.

Eva Kemp.
Thank you so much! I copied your text and saved it in a future guide for myself.
Have a great day!
