Pages in Category Articles not working. Pagination of Archives

I am using a custom permalink /%category%/%postname%/ in permalinks.
However with the latest update a few days back I found that older posts link below the articles throws nothing found error.

I can change the permalinks to /%category%/archives/%postname%/ but that breaks all my search links in google.

I tried to check everything but cannot understand why this is happening on first place.
