Trying to resize desktop logo to no avail

I have tried every suggestion to add code to my custom.css and I can not get any results.I want my logo at 517 x 67 on the desktop. It is fine the way it is on everything else. I am using option 8 for my header. I would appreciate any and all help.

Also I want to leave the position as is on the left.

I think that I figured it out ..

.header-logo img {
max-width: 520px;
float: left;
}
