    Hello,

Due to the amount of fake accounts being created by spam bots on this part of the website – is it possible to add a captcha field for customers registering an account on the My Account page?

We have captcha setup for logging into the backend etc but it seems the front end is more tricky. I’m guessing it’s something in the my-account.php code that needs modifying?

At the moment, on the My Account page, the only fields required are email and password and we are getting a huge number of accounts being registered with fake email addresses which are bouncing back from our server which means we are getting a constant stream of bounce back emails coming through every day.

Or if you have any other suggestions other than captcha to prevent this happening?

    Thanks,

    Simon

    Hello,

We use default woocommerce login/registration on My account page.
You may use captcha plugin for registration form to prevent spam registrations.

    Hello,

We already have a plugin running (All In One WP Security) with option ticked for regiustration captcha but nothing changes on the front end and we still get the spam accounts registering…

    Thanks,

    Simon

Also, I disabled that plugin and reinstated Google Captcha with a tick box for the registration form but it just causes an error on the My Account page with the message: “You have entered an incorrect reCAPTCHA value” without it actually giving you an option to click anything related to captcha. It just prevents you from signing in. I tried adding a captcha to the page with the code [bws_google_captcha] on the My Account page but that just adds it to the page and not within the actual login or registration sections and doesn’t work. Which I guess makes sense as it needs to be embedded…

Figured it out: you have to disable Google ReCaptcha then enable the woocommerce login/register captch tick box within the Brute Force section of the WP security plugin. Now it works.
