Variable product discount percentage label

Hello,
why is the label of the discount percentage of a variable product not the same as that of single products?

If a product is variable it has On Sale label http://prntscr.com/oe0rbv If a product is simple it has percentage discount. We did not add percentage discount for the variable products because it requires a lot of requests to DB (price for every variation you have and calculation of the best one) and slows down the site speed.
