Upgrade from 5.3.2 to 6.1.4 - by javi_web

    Hello, I have to upgrade the theme and I need to solve a few questions:
    – If I upgrade, will I must need to make changes on styles or theme configuration? Or the new version is fully compatible with previous?
    – It’s dangerous keep the actual version for a few months? Or I should upgrade to get woocommerce plugin compatibility?

    Hello,

    I would recommend you to create a staging site (full copy of the existing one) and update the theme and plugins there first https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/theme-installation/theme-update/ https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/plugins/plugins-update/ If everything is ok then you’ll be able to update the production site. Do not update the Core plugin before the theme update. Also, you will need to install the Kirki framework plugin after the theme update, then go to Xstore > Theme Options to finish migration of settings.
    Do the backup of your database and files before starting the theme update.
    + you need to be sure that PHP version is 7.0 or 7.2 on your site. Read more in our changelog http://prntscr.com/pb8oo5 https://xstore.8theme.com/update-history/ , a lot of new features were added in new versions.
    The theme updating will override any custom changes that you make to the parent theme. Hence we recommend using a child theme. A child theme is not meant to be updated and should contain only your custom changes.
    If you need our help with the update, just provide temporary wp-admin and FTP access to the staging site. Please note, that our technicians work Monday – Friday, so on weekends (Sat-Sun) you can get consultations only.

    Hello, I have updated and after a few changes all works fine.
    I only have a problem, when I update to last Xstore Core plugin (1.4.5) static blocks disappear and doesn’t work anymore.

    why?

    I can’t see “Eight Theme” tab on WPBakery Page Builder and all blocks made with 8Themes doesn’t appear.

    Hello,

    If you update XStore core plugin to version 1.4.5 then XStore theme version should be 6.1.5, not 6.1.4. Have you updated theme to version 6.1.5?
