    Hi,

some parallax row backgrounds aren’t displaying correctly in Safari 5.1.10

It’s just a plain white background, but in Chrome it’s showing as it should, see screenshot..

    Hello,

    Sorry for a long delay.
Please update the theme to 1.5 version. Some bugs were fixed there.
    https://www.8theme.com/demo/docs/royal/#!/installation_upgrade (paragraph “1.5 Theme Upgrade”).

    Thank you.
    Regards,

    Hi,

I’ve updated the theme, cleared cache, and the issue persists. It’s really important I fix this issue, otherwise it means I can’t use background images across any of the site, or the content on top of the background won’t be readable when the background doesn’t display.

Can I at least somehow have a fallback solid colour for browsers that have this issue?

    Hi,

Your last reply was 2 WEEKS AGO, this still hasn’t been fixed, you’ve just kind of ignored my post. I have THREE posts about this theme, which have just gone unreplied. I need these problems fixed, or I need to get a refund from Themeforest, because your theme just does not function as it should.

    1. Google maps icons don’t show up on iPhone – how am I meant to use Google Maps on my site if users can’t see the business location on the actual map??
    https://www.8theme.com/topic/map-icon-not-showing-on-iphone/

    2. Tabs don’t function correctly on mobile devices – there’s no other suitable way to show the content I have, I have to use tabs.
    https://www.8theme.com/topic/tabs-behaving-strangely-on-mobile-devices/

    3. As in the above topic, parallax backgrounds aren’t displaying correctly.

By the time you actually reply, all you say is “update the theme”, to which I do, clear my cache, test it gain, and surprise surprise the issue persists. How about spending less time adding to the “60+ theme demos” and working on the theme itself so it functions as it should.

    Hello,

There are a lot of requests at present, that’s why we answer with some delay. Take our apologies, we do our best.

We think you problem with parallax could be related to old Safari version, because we have checked your site with 7.0 and 8.0 and did not face any issues. Could you:
    1) Check if this issue present with our theme only or with default theme?
    2) Update your Safari to latest version and check?

    Regards,
    Olga Barlow

    Hi Olga,

Issue 1 and 2 in my message above have been fixed, thank you. It looks like the parallax backgrounds have an issue with Safari 5.1, but there are still users that use this browser – can I have a fallback background colour for when parallax backgrounds do not show?

As I’m sure you can understand, white text on a white background won’t show, so this is going to be an issue for users with old browsers.. otherwise I can’t use parallax backgrounds at all..

    Hi,

Sorry, I’m having issues with backgrounds in the latest version of Chrome also. And the background isn’t even set to Parallax, it’s just a standard row background. Please see the video below, where I have to highlight text\content for the background to actually show..

I really need this background issue fixed, I thought having a standard background image would fix the OTHER issue I’m having (above posts) but obviously not

I’ve just updated, cleared cache, and the issue is still there. Please do something about it… how can I fix this? Background images have been in HTML forever, so why is this so difficult to have problem-free?

After over a month of not resolving this issue, and poor communication from support, I’ve decided to scrap the Royal Theme and use a different theme, as this issue is too big to look past, and the client needs the site to go live as it’s gone on for too long.

Very disappointed this couldn’t be resolved, this has been my only bad experience using many Themeforest themes.

    Hello, @mozmocreative,

We are very sorry that you feel this way! There are lot of requests on our forum that cause some delay in answering.

We want to help you, but every time when we see your site it looks fine. We checked parallax in Chrome on Mac and Windows, it works like a charm. We are confused what could be the reason of your issue from your side.

Parallax effect is Ultimate Addons for VC plugin feature, that’s why problems related to compatibility with old versions of browsers should be addressed to plugin author, because we can’t make any changes in plugin files.

If you’re going to design a theme with a third party plugin, you have to take some accountability when said plugin doesn’t work correctly. YOU chose to build Ultimate Addons in your theme, you are their customer, I have nothing to do with them, I have not purchased their product, I’m not even ENTITLED to support from them, my place for support is right here in this support forum for the Royal Theme that you are the author of. I cannot stress that enough.

I understand there are a lot of requests and it takes time – and I usually give you a week to reply, and that’s still not enough time, you don’t reply – not good enough. The problem I’m having.. is not with an old version, it’s with the latest version of Chrome.
