Problem with multiple-headers - by The Watch Strap Co.

Hi there,

We’ve been using multiple headers for the last 3 weeks or so, however, a random issue has popped up.

If we click into a multiple header and try to change the content on the lefthand side (HTML block, Promo Text content etc…) we only see the default header options.

It used to change to display the multiple header content and let us change it. In face if you click into the ‘Non-sticky header’ we created you’ll see the promo text on mobile doesn’t even match what is shown on the right, so, it must be somewhere.

We’ve disabled all plugins except X-STORE CORE and get the same problem.

One thing I have noticed in the console is this error…

customize.php?autofocus[panel]=header-builder:1 Unchecked runtime.lastError: The message port closed before a response was received.

I don’t know if that is related?

Please update theme & Xstore core plugin to latest version.

Hi,

I see many errors in Console Log https://prnt.sc/u8po4h

You should deactivate all plugins (except Required Plugins) and then reactivate them one by one. This makes it very easy to isolate the plugin causing problems.

I’ve just disabled every plugin except for X-store Core and still seem be getting the same problem. Is there anything else it may be?

Hi, are you in my site editing the header?

I only ask as I enabled a plugin, the site froze and then on refresh lots of plugins are now deactivated and the header is changed.

If it isn’t you I will put things back to how they were, but if it is I don’t want to ruin your testing

Hello,

Have you had any luck with this?

It is pretty much one of the last couple of things stopping us launching our new website at the moment, so, if you could look into it that would be great.

I’ve also had another look myself and have found a few errors relating to the header buld which I have copied here…

I don’t know if that is what’s causing it?

As mentioned before I have tried enabled / disabling all plugins and still seem to get the issue 🙁

I have tried to set the different HTML block for the multiple headers and did not face the mentioned issue. Could you, please, tell me what blocks for what headers do you want to set to test it with real things?

Yes, we still have the issue.

Basically, we just need to be able to update the promo text on mobile for our ‘non sticky header’ on the header builder. Basically at the moment it shows shows the “original” promo text which we aren’t able to overwrite

Try to delete all sections of the Promo Text element and added them from scratch.

Hi there,

Figured out its something to do with REDIS object cache, disabling this allows me to edit the promo text in the backend but it doesn’t show on the frontend.

Please is there anything you can do?

Have you changed wp-admin access? I can’t login. Please check.
Try to clear all cache, from a plugin, server, browser, and check the frontend then.

Sorry, but the problem is a bit unclear for me.
As I can see, you are using one of Multiple headers on the mentioned page, in the editor – https://prnt.sc/ueqsig and live site – https://prnt.sc/ueqsq0 What problem is there? Please describe the problem in more detail for a better understanding.

The problem is if you go into the header builder in the backend, navigate to ‘non-sticky header’ -> mobile version and try to change the promo text you aren’t able to do so.

I’ve just tried deleting the entire promo section and all items for it but that hasn’t helped unfortunately. When I add it back it shows that there are no items but it still shows the original ones we had.

Hello,

Thanks for the detailed explanation.
Our technicians replied that it is a complicated bug, and we do not have a ready solution. The fix will take some time, and will be added in one of next updates. Follow our changelog – https://xstore.8theme.com/update-history/
Please do not use this element, and replace it by somthing else. For example, you can create a static block with an Autoscrolling Text element inside and show it in the header via HTML block.
