Show/embed product filter at top of category page, instead of floating button.

On our current development store, on mobile the product filter button shows only as a hovering button that when clicked opens a slide-in modal box much like the menu. We would like to change this to being a fixed button at the top of the page (and change the icon) and the filters menu also opens in-page – we have seen this on other example xstore websites, but don’t know how to enable it on our own website, please advise.
