When the homepage is the same as the shop page all those options in the page layout section (on the edit page screen) are malfunctioning. This is very annoying as I am not able to add a slider to my homepage right now.
All of the options in this section are disabled:
Why is this happening? I suppose it has something to do with a conflict between the theme and woocommerce shop page. However this theme has, apart from this issue, excellent support for woocommerce. Then why are these options disabled? Themes can override standard woocommerce templates very easily.
And how can we fix this? I want the slider ‘homepage slider’ to be visible on the homepage, instead of the current title and shop banner.
Thx in advance!
Hello,
If you want to have Home page and Shop page separated, then choose or create another page for your products and change “Product Archive / Shop Page” in Woocommerce > Settings.

Hi Eva,
I do not want them seperated. Customers need to see the products right on the home page. There are so many shops that have this.
How can I change the slider on the home page even while it’s the same as the shop page? There must be a way to do that.
If I need to change something in the code it’s no problem. Just tell me which file I need to edit for that.
Hello,
You can remove the current banner in Theme Settings > Shop > Product Page Banner and you’ll see the url of the image in the text mode. Just remove it and upload new image via “Add Media” button.
Don’t forget to save the changes.

Ok thank you. And what if I want to create a slider for that page, how do I get the slider to display on it?
Thx in advance!
You need insert shortcode of your slider ([rev_slider homepage]) into Visual mode in Theme Settings > Shop > Product Page Banner instead of the image.

allright thank you very much! That was what I needed 🙂
