What is the best way to set the main image size of the product?

As i go to WooCommerce/Settings change ‘Single Product Image’ to 600 x 600px and nothing happens, I change it to 1000 x 1000px and nothing happens.

If I go to Theme Options/single page layout, and set the image to 200 x 200 px then that sets the category page product image display. Which is fine 🙂

So where can I set the main image size? AS nothing in WooCommerce or Themesettings seems to work.

As it seems to be 600 x 600px whether that is what I want or not.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hello,

After changing image size in WooCommerce/Settings/Product you need regenerate your thumbnails. Look at screenshot please:http://prntscr.com/5dg2gh

Many thanks for the response, and apolise for my delay.

But where is the ‘regenerate Thumbnails’? As I don’t see it under WooCommerce/Settings/Product

And it is the main product images I was wanting to change not the thumbnails.

Many thanks for that, I have just regenerated the thumbnails after changing the main product image from 600 x 600px to 400px x 400px

And the main product image is still showing as 600px x 600px

I changed the main image size in WooCommerce/Settings/images/Single Product Image with ‘Hard Crop’ ticked.

What have I done wrong? Where can I change default product image size?

Please specify size you want to set for an image and provide us with wp-admin panel credentials in Private Content.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

    Sorry for misunderstanding.
Unfortunately there is no possibility to change main image sizes for a single product page. An image is resized accordingly to image block which max width is 570px (if sidebar is enabled), height is unlimited.
So if you want to make smaller height you need upload a wider image.

    Sorry for inconveniences.

    Hi

That is a shame, so I will have to change the ratio of images, from say 600px(H) x 600px (W) to 400px(H) x 700px(W).

To get the image to be less deep, but surely then the page will be wider because of wider image?

Is there nothing that can be done, as I cannot believe anyone would create a new theme without being able to change the main product image size!!!

AS not everyone would want 600px deep image!! Especially as this puts the product description below the fold and less likely for visitors to read it.

    Hi,

Just tested your theory and nothing changes, in terms of layout.

    See here Private content

The main image is now wider and less deep, but the text content/social content below the images remains in the same place.

And the thumbnail, for the red version of the cufflink seem to have ‘jumped up’ which looks strange!!

So I presume the long and short of it is, I am going to have change the coding to allow for

    1) Shorter images
    2) To move the product description content up
    3) Social media icons up.

To give the affect of a less deep page?

    Regards

    Rob
