Hi there,
On single product pages, the ‘related products’ seem randomly chosen from the parent category (e.g. ‘necklaces’), but this is wide category.
Instead of chain necklaces, for example, showing up as the related products of a certain bib necklace, I want other bib necklaces to appear as more appropriate to this customer’s need.
Is there a way to make the related searches go by sub-category instead of the wider parent category?
Please and thanks.
Hello,
You can select just subcategory for a product what editing it:
And the products from that subcategory will be shown as related products.

Thanks for your reply.
I unchecked the ‘necklaces’ category and left only the subcategory checked as in the screen shot, but I am still getting ‘related products’ showing up where there are no categories in common.

Hello,
Could you please clarify what you want to achieve?
As I see products from Bibs category are shown as related products.
Thank you.

Thanks for answering so quickly.
On this single product, for example, a bracelet shows up as well:

Hello,
The reason is that the related products have similar tags (or one similar tag) as this product http://bijouxtreasures.com/product/bib-necklace-w-purple-stones-hematite/
That’s why they are shown from other categories too.
Thank you.

Is there any way to make it so the ‘related products’ draw from categories only and not tags?
Hello,
Unfortunately there is no such possibility. Sorry.
