Hi there,
Just a quick question. I have the royal theme installed on a site and would like to upgrade it to XStore.
1. Would the Brands still show as they are when I upgrade?
2. What other changes would I have to make to keep the look the same way? The main colours, fonts, etc.
3. What are the benefits of changing over to Xstore?
Many thanks
Hello Marquand,
Thank you for getting in touch with us.
1/ Unfortunately, no. Brands is a custom post type, a custom one for a particular theme.
2/ It will be necessary to change not only colors, fonts, but also some content on the pages. Unfortunately, Xstore does not have backward compatibility with Royal or other of our themes.
3/ Regular updates that include new demo versions, fixes, and new functionalities. We also provide Elementor support and a wide range of widgets for it, which you can view at https://xstore.8theme.com/#design-elements . Additionally, we offer a wide range of Sale buster options https://www.8theme.com/documentation/docs/sales-booster/ , custom optimized wishlist https://youtu.be/ZyjZ-vCx0pE and compare systems, patch systemshttps://www.8theme.com/documentation/docs/how-to-use-xstore-patcher/ , header and single product builders, artificial intelligence to help with content creation https://youtu.be/kf5fUK8Wh_4 , and much more https://www.youtube.com/c/8theme/videos
We hope this information is helpful.

Thank you for all the info.
I understand with the brand it is a post type, so does it mean I’ll have to tag every single product back to the brand as the menu items currently point at the brand. There are about 20 of them.
Will I lose all of them when I change over?
Oh, and what about the static blocks?
Thanks
Hello Marquand,
Thank you for your response.
As we can see you already have XStore licenses, so you can create a full copy of the site, which uses Royal, – a staging site, and activate XStore there to do tests. In case all is fine, you may purchase a new license for this project and re-activate XStore.
You will not lose static blocks.

That’s great. I’ll try that. Thank you.
Hello Marquand,
You’re welcome!

Hi there,
I’ve moved the site to my localhost and activated the xstore theme, but it is asking me for a licence. Do I just use any one of the licences I have for it?
Will it detect that I’m using a localhost?
Thanks
Hello Marquand,
Yes, you can use it on the test site.
If you will get an activation limit message, just contact us and we will help.

Thank you. That worked anyway. I’ve installed it and replaced the royal theme. The brands still work – the links are on the menu. I mean it’s great that it works but is it supposed to as you said it was custom post.
Thanks for your help.
Hello Marquand,
Thank you for your response.
I’ve checked it on my own test site, it seems brands can work still, which is great.

Sorry, just one question. I’ve added it in the private content area.
Thanks

Hi there,
Update: please ignore. I’ve resolved it. Thanks
Sorry about this but I’m getting this error on one of the sites I have the Royal licence for. Please find the screenshot in the private content area.
I just updated it. Also tried copying the files over on FTP. It’s very strange as the other site which I have it on is fine.
many thanks
