If i use wp reset the child theme changes are lost?

if i use wp reset the child theme changes are lost? i mean i would like to import another demo template design for my website. If i run wp reset first, i will lost the child theme functions.php ?

Also, you can create a full backup before the reset or backup of functions.php file.
