I want to create specific category pages where if a user goes to a category labelled “T-shirts” as an example they are presented with all the products in that category. However, I want to make this a thing for all products so it saves me making specific pages for each category.
Can you help me with this?
Hello, Kimber23,
Thank you for contacting us and for using XStore.
Could you provide temporary wp-admin access? We need to check your settings more deeply.
To provide wp-admin access, you can create a new user account with administrator role via the Dashboard, and provide us with the username and password via the Private Content area.
Here is some base info:
Categories for products are created here – https://prnt.sc/p1z_3yyJVZp6 Every category automatically gets a page – https://prnt.sc/avIy_JidMlZv , link can be changed via Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks > Optional > Product category base.
You can add product categories to menus – https://prnt.sc/NOixBY4jmpzt
Every product may have a lot of categories and 1 primary category – https://prnt.sc/Hh4oL7KnI1fC
We hope this information is helpful.
Kind Regards,

Hey Rose,
I’ve attached the admin details in the ticket notes any help would be appreciated!
Best Regards,
Ryan
Hello, Kimber23,
Thank you for your response.
We temporarily deactivate the Elementor Pro plugin on your site, so now the default layout for categories is applied. You can change it via Theme Options > WooCommerce > Shop > Shop page layout.
If you want to use Elementor Pro plugin still, you can do this, but you need to contact the support of this plugin directly. XStore is compatible with Eleemntor Pro, but we do not provide consultation about the plugin functionality, because this is 3rd party plugin purchased separately from the theme, their support team is very professional and will be able to assist you.
We trust that the information provided will be of significant assistance to you.
Kind Regards,
8theme team
Hi Guys,
Can you give me a little more help than that?
Is there a way to make sure that the shop layout can be overridden?
What if I want to design the category pages in a specific way are you saying this can’t be done?
Hello, Kimber23,
Thank you for your response.
Yes, we can help you with our theme settings.
You can edit Shop page layout via Theme Options > WooCommerce > Shop > Shop page layout and Products Design. Categories inherit settings from the Shop page.
Please just go to mentioned settings if Theme Options and you will see, that you can do configure, for example – https://prnt.sc/CJ4E4PuRCpHB
Also, you can add a banner at the top of a category page. Please go to Products > Categories > edit category > add content into Description area https://prnt.sc/JJK_5Sd7ZQMY , it can be a static block shortcode https://prnt.sc/lM6_mXZAtWTe
XStore is fully compatible with Elementor Pro, there is no restriction from our theme side. If Elementor Pro says that layout can be overridden, then it can be done, but you need to continue the conversation with the Elementor Pro plugin.
We hope this information is helpful.
Kind Regards,
8theme team

There seems to be a conflict with the theme and Elementor any help would be appreciated
Hello, Kimber23,
“There seems to be a conflict with the theme and Elementor any help would be appreciated ” – why do you think so, have you checked it with Storefront (default WooCommerce theme), and there your content and settings work in another way?
You added on page Products element from Elementor, but we have own Products grid element, here is an example – https://prnt.sc/lRydAjqZa-1Z

If you can guide me on how to do that the issue will be deemed as resolved.
Same quiestion, and I want to create a functional filter like the look in the default shop page. Waiting for your solution
Hi Rose,
Any update on the support side of things?
Best Regards,
Ryan
Hello, Kimber23,
Sorry for the delay in answering.
According to the fact you are already using Elementor Pro plugin, we recommend you try using the Loop Grid element of Elementor ( https://elementor.com/help/loop-grid/ ). This element can help you with archiving the most needed layout of products for the shop page.
About making the “current query“ option for our Products Grid/List elements, please, post a feature request here first so that it will be voted by other customers → https://www.8theme.com/roadmap/.

Hi Rose,
If using the loop grid does not work and X Store overrides the design I want is there anything we can do from that?
It seems like the issue is the Xstore overrides everything

Ryan
Hi Rose,
I see your editing the category template there seems to be an issue with the theme can you help troubleshoot that as well?
Best Regards,
Ryan
Hello, Lanxiaodj,
Please provide URL of page where the Loop Grid element does not work.

Hi Guys,
I seemed to have fixed it by redoing the site from scratch and changing the theme template:

Hi Rose,
Is there a reason X Store is not compatible with Elementor Pro?
Are you able to log in to the site and review things for me?
Best Regards,
Ryan
Hello, Lanxiaodj,
Thank you for contacting us and for using XStore.
We’ve checked your site and it can be loaded right now with the Elementor Pro plugin activated, so we do not see a problem.
Was the problem solved?
