On preview or installation of the WooPress theme, the following occurs:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /(…)/wp-content/themes/woopress/framework/theme-functions.php on line 3010

I understand this may be a php version error, however I have checked the host and our php is
5.4.27 which according to your specs and documentation for this theme should be fine.

I am running the latest WordPress version, on a fresh install. In fact I repeated this installation a couple of times to ensure it was not ‘user’ error.

Please advise, at the moment the product does not work for me.

Hi I’m experiencing this same problem. How do I fix it? I also can’t seem to submit anything in your forums.

    Hello @nicolas.w.fisher@gmail.com,

What php version is used on a server for your site?
Please check it with your host and ask them to increase it at least to 5.3 php version.

    Regards,
    Robert Hall.

    Hello, @nicolas.w.fisher@gmail.com,

You need to enter your purchase code (https://www.8theme.com/download-plugins/) to be able to create topics on support forum and get plugin updates.

If you use PHP 5.3 or higher, but still see the error, please, provide admin panel and FTP accesses in Private Content area.

    Regards,
    Olga Barlow

Unfortunately for security reasons I cannot supply these credentials.

However, the site is running fine on a number of other themes.

Is it possible that PHP compatibility needs to be redocumented as a higher version?

    Hello @Petar,

Sorry, but you must ask your host to increase php version at least to 5.3 version to make the theme working.
    Please do this.

    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    I’d get a refund (I did).

The documentation is either wrong, or there is a systemic issue with the theme. I’ve had dozens of other themes test fine on the install, but this one has a problem.

As mentioned, my PHP was above the required specs and the issue still occurs. It does not look like the rep here read my first post properly.

The theme looked great but I can’t afford undocumented behaviours and support like this.

    Hello @seangtc,

Phpinfo shows that php version is 5.2:

So please ask your hosting provider to update it.
