hi, I would like to set the product categories in the search filters with more order: I would like to see the hierarchy and the possibility of giving css styles only to the macro category.
it currently displays as an infinite list with no differentiation.
how can I do it? do I have to modify from code? Can you tell me the function to modify and what file it is in and how to modify the code?
thank you
Hello, @chara_wedsolution,
Thank you so much for purchasing our theme and contacting our support center.
Should you wish to review the available styles, kindly proceed to the following location within your dashboard: XStore > Theme Options > Header Builder > Search > Fancy Select Option > ON. For your convenience, a visual reference has been provided at the following link: Under the Private Content Area
Additionally, you have the flexibility to tailor the style to your preferences by incorporating custom CSS code. This can be achieved by entering your custom CSS code under XStore > Theme Options > Theme Custom CSS > Global CSS, and then ensuring to publish your changes.
We trust this information will be of assistance to you. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Our support team is always available to assist you.
Warm regards,
The 8Theme Team.
No, I mean category filter in the shop side bar (as you can see in the link I left in the private content area)
Hello, @chara_wedsolution,
I hope this message finds you well.
We are writing to inquire if your intention is to exclusively modify the styling of the parent categories within the shop sidebar category filter. It appears that the hierarchical structure of your categories is already established, with child categories neatly nested beneath their respective parent categories, accompanied by an arrow for expansion and collapse, as indicated in the private content area (1 screenshot).
Should you wish to specifically alter the color, size, or font of the parent categories alone, this would necessitate the application of Custom CSS code.
However, if our understanding does not align with your requirements, We kindly request that you provide a more detailed explanation of your concerns so that we may assist you more effectively.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to your clarification.
Best Regards,
The 8Theme Team
Now you can see it correct because I changed the element, I put the standard Woocommerce category filter. I have this problem with the theme filters (which you no longer see precisely because I need to see the hierarchy with urgency) but I really liked that with your filter it was possible to check multiple categories, which is not possible do with the woo commerce standard.
Hello, @chara_wedsolution,
Thank you for your response
Should you desire to include a category check within your sidebar widget, kindly proceed to your WordPress dashboard. From there, navigate to ‘Widgets’, then select ‘Shop sidebar’, and subsequently choose the ‘XStore filter product by categories widget’. Please proceed to add it to the shop sidebar area.
For your convenience, we have provided an image for reference. https://ibb.co/jhDMgc1 & https://imgur.com/3qFLZMe

yes I know I understand. I know how to add it thanks. my problem is that both macrocategories and subcategories come in alphabetical order, instead I need to see the macrocategories in order and under each one its subcategories.
I have two widgets to show categories
– the standard woocommerce widget which shows me graphically exactly how I want them but does not offer me the possibility of multi-selection via checkbox
– your theme’s widget instead offers me the multiselection I want but the categories and subcategories are not in order, it is not clear to the customer
I hope you understand my problem now

sure they are in order in the theme widget but the SUBCATEGORIES are not under the parent categories….. I’m sorry but I don’t know how to explain it anymore, perhaps the attachment in the private box can help you.
Thank you
Hello, @chara_wedsolution,
We regret to inform you that, as you have correctly pointed out, the current version of the XStore filter products by categories widget does not support the display of subcategories as depicted in the provided screenshot: https://ibb.co/Qv0HFzD
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.
You can post your request on our Taskboard at https://www.8theme.com/taskboard/. If it receives enough votes from other customers, our development team will consider adding it in one of the upcoming updates.
Kind regards,
The 8Theme Team
Hi @chara_wedsolution,
Did you post a request in the TaskBoard for this feature? I’ve checked but I cannot see it, so I cannot up-vote it (which I really would like to do as I think this is just a no-brainer).
While setting up hierarchical sub-categories may look promising when working on the Product Categories page, ending up with a single, unordered, one-line-deep list on the live Products Archive page just doesn’t make sense.
Or am I too missing something?
(Though according to the Tutorial here – https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/video-tutotials/woocommerce-product-categories-tags-attributes/ – I don’t seem to be).
Cheers,
