Hi there,
In my skincare, body care, and hair care store, there are several categories that appear in the main menu. When a customer selects a category, such as “Skincare,” a dropdown menu appears.
What I’m envisioning is:
When a customer selects a main or sub-category (e.g., “Skincare”), they are redirected to a new page with a sidebar. This sidebar would display the selected main category (“Skincare”), its subcategories, and other related categories such as:
Skincare >
Brands >
Skin Concerns >
Skin Preferences >
Sun Protection >
The issue I’m facing is that all the main and sub-categories from the entire store are appearing, which is not what I want. I want to control the content in the main part of the page and have the products on the left based on the customer’s search. Can you please help me?
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Basma
Hello, Basma,
We understand that you would like to ensure that only relevant categories and products are displayed on the sidebar rather than showing all categories from the entire store.
Please go to Theme Options > Woocommerce > Shop Elements > Categories > Advanced mode (With this option, you will have a “Show All Categories” link and the children of the current category for the Product Categories widget on the product category page. Note: Preview is not available, so please check outside of the Customizer preview.)

Hello
I’ve designed this page with Elementor. I’ve carefully followed the specific instructions you provided in your last message and have activated the necessary settings, but I’m not seeing any changes.
Could you please advise on the next steps?
Hello, Basma,
Could you please provide temporary wp-admin access? We need to check your settings.
To grant WP-Admin access, please proceed to create a new user account with an administrator role through your WordPress Dashboard. Once the account is established, you may securely transmit the username and password to us via the Private Content section designated for this purpose.

Hello
Control Panel Data
Hello, Basma,
We appreciate your prompt response.
We have reviewed the sidebar on the product archive page, and this is what we observe: https://prnt.sc/PZ-dy_ImCTJo Only the parent categories are displayed. However, when visiting a specific product category page, the corresponding subcategories appear in the sidebar: https://prnt.sc/amlyKJm6G93H
This is how the “Shop Elements > Categories > Advanced mode” option functions.
If you would like to request new options be added, you can post your request on our Taskboard at https://www.8theme.com/taskboard/. If it receives enough votes from other customers, our development team will consider adding it to one of our upcoming updates.
Best Regards,
8Theme’s Team
