Hello,
I am rebuilding a site I did a while back that we used the Royal theme and want some advice on the best way to setup product. It’s a sports memorabilia website that will have around 400 different sports teams in drop down menus. Each team will have a wide range of products from different vendors that we use. When the customer goes to their favorite team say Manchester they only want to see Manchester related products. What is the best way to set the teams and products up? Should I put each team as a category or as a tag? In the end I would like customers to be able to browse by their favorite team or select car mats and see all the car mats(from every team). I am not sure if woocommerce and the royal theme will show related by (tags, attributes, or categories). Whatever I set the teams to I need to be sure and have the ability to put them in the drop down menu. I have never tried to tie a tag or attribute in a drop down menu. Any advice on how to setup 10,000+ product by category, tags, or attributes would be great. Your team is always been great help and that’s why I recommend all my clients select a theme from you.
Hello,
You can create a category for each team and mark products with a proper category.
Then you can add your categories to menu in Appearance > Menus. If you don’t see Product Categories section there you need add it from Screen Options at the top of the page in Appearance > Menus section.
Also you can contact Woocommerce support team concerning products setup as this is their configuration and they can provide you with more information.
Thank you.

Thanks for the help one problem that I am running into and I don’t know if there is a solution or if woocommerce/wordpress just can’t handle my needs. I am going to have 10,000+ items in inventory and it seems like with just loading college teams 239 of them and then taking it off of maintenance Mode to go look at it for performance. I am using 62% CPU usage and 502.7 out of 512mb of physical memory with I/O usage of .4/ 1 MB/s, I exit out and let it cool down it all goes back to normal 14.3 / 512 MB of physical memory usage. With this many products going to be on the site and average of 100+ hits a day how what will be the best thing to do so I know it’s not shutting down. Will different themes cause an increase in CPU usage or what can I do to help keep the CPU usage down?
Hello,
Try to increase memory limit on a server and check your site after that.
The problem may be caused by lack of memory.
Thank you.
