Hello,
I’m very new to WP development, so please forgive me if this is an easy answer!
There are no drop down menus on my site. http://184.154.226.11/~lesjeux0/
I’d like the main menu to be like your demo site. How do I get the drop down menu (for shop)?
I tried looking in the documentation, and saw it said to use a CSS class in the menu type, but I don’t see this option anywhere?
Thanks,
Diana
Hello,
Your question isn’t related to our theme, this is WordPress feature. You need create submenus to have drop down menus. You can find more information about menu/submenu at this link: http://thewillinghamenterprise.com/2014/04/27/how-to-add-pages-categories-or-custom-links-to-a-wordpress-menu/

This just shows me how to modify the main menu by adding pages, but doesn’t seem to relate to the woo commerce “SHOP” menu that you show in your demo theme (it was listed as a feature of your theme!).
I want to click on “SHOP” and see all the categories and sub-categories of my store. And – when I add a new category, I assume it will be added automatically to this menu?
How do I set this up?
Thanks,
Diana
Hello,
You need add the categories and subcategories to the menu in Appearance > Menus. Our documentation will help you to create columns as shown on our demo site: https://www.8theme.com/demo/docs/legenda/index.html#!/primary_menu
Unfortunately when you create a new category you should add to the menu manually.

Ok thanks. I finally figured it out (your instructions are not clear btw – you need to better explain where to find the “screen options” and this instruction should be above the “add css class” to menu since without it there is no css option on the menus),
but how can I get a better formatting? Currently, each top-menu item is showing up in its own column – even if it doesn’t have sub-menu items. Can you check it here? http://184.154.226.11/~lesjeux0/
Is there a better css class I can use?
Hello,
We have changed the formatting of your menu, you can check it.
For that, we used the CSS class et-col1 and et-col2.

I appreciate the help. This is a bit better, but is there not a way to NOT have a new column for each subcategory? You must agree that this menu does not really look nice!
Hello,
Unfortunately we don’t have another options concerning navigation menu.
We’re sorry for inconveniences.

Eva Kemp.
Ok, then I don’t understand. How do your customers use this menu? Can you give me examples of other stores that use it? Everyone must have a variable number of sub-categories under their “main” categories…I can’t be the only one with display issues.
Could you please describe what you are trying to achieve with the menu?
You may try to use some plugin to configure it for your needs.

Eva Kemp.
Hello,
In our theme you can create 12 columns subitems (et-col1 – et-col12), but they will be very narrow. If you want to avoid this, use menu without class menu-full-width.

Hello dgarroway98, I believe I know what you are talking about. On my top menu, I created a “shop” link and when you hover over it, a drop down menu appears with sub categories to your product categories directly. This is how I did it: First, on the left hand side, I hovered over the products tab and selected “categories” within the products section. I create one category which was “shop” as the main category and every other category I create, I just make sure I select “Parent” then “shop” to make “shop” the parent category for every other sub-category. Once I made all of my categories, I then went to the appearance link below and select menu and make sure your on the main menu. Go to the top right corner of the page where it says “screen options” click on it and a menu will pop down. Place a check on “product categories” then scroll down the panel til you get to “product categories”, check all categories, add to menu, then place them in order. Don’t worry, it took me a little while to figure it out but I had to share what I experienced since I see you had the same problem as I looked at your site. Phew, Im finished lol……….
