Full Width Menu Not Showing Up - by kybalio

Hi There,

I’m loving the product so far, but I hope you can help with this snag.

I’m not sure how and when the full width menu should show up.

I’ve worked through the tutorial and added 4 top level categories using shop, blog, account etc, I’ve also done the CSS option menu-full-width menu-column1, menu-full-width menu-column2 etc in each category and ticked to enable CSS, but the menu doesn’t show up at all, just says… go to appearance/menu to setup. I also can’t seem to get the response slider to work either. I must be missing something simple here

Hello,

To have full width menu you need create more than one submenu items and add css classes only to the parent menu item as shown in our documentation https://www.8theme.com/demo/docs/woopress/#!/primary_menu (paragraph “8.2 Menu types”). To make menu visible on your site go to Appearance > Menus > Manage Locations tab > select menu for “Main menu (left, default)” field.

When I tried to import slider I got this error “Internal Server Error”.
You should check it with your hosting provider support. Perhaps some parameters must be increased (memory_limit or upload_max_filesize and post_max_size). Please check it.

Thanks so much Jack, i’m busy adding products and posts now so I can create some levels, so please keep this thread open, it will take me a few days as I’m working on other parts of the design too, thanks. I’ve got the slider working now conceptually, I’ll be back lol

Hi Jack,

I’ve been adding some sub menus, css for each parent, selected the screen options as per the documentation, saved Navigation as Main menu (left, default) in Menu Location, made sure each Navigation parent in Menu structure has Main menu (left, default), saved all and still no show for the menu,

I’ve tried every option, is there something obvious missing here?

PS: 1. Register although selected in header options does not show up on the header.

2. Where do we edit the footer text, links and images? I’ve check in pages, appearance, editor

Hello,

Please provide us with FTP credentials.
As I see Register link is shown in header:

You need recreate footer as described in our documentation:
https://www.8theme.com/demo/docs/woopress/#!/0_footer
It should be created via Static Block section.

thanks Eva, oops, I was signed in which is why i couldn’t see Register, sorry.
If I want to put image buttons instead of these register links to make a feature of them, where are they located please?

Ok, I’ve done the statick block widget on Footer 1, there is a drop down, but it has no options there such as Pre footer.

Anyway, below is my ftp, I will need your ip address too please because our security wont allow unknown server ftp access..

Hello,

You can create prefooter row in the same static block and use it in Footer 1 area in Appearance > Widgets.
Unfortunately there is no register button, you can only style the link like a button using borders. We can give the code if you agree.

Hello,

We’re sorry for a delay.
The menu couldn’t be saved because you uploaded theme folder incorrectly. You uploaded the whole package “WooPress_Responsive_Ecommerce_Wordpress_Theme”, but you had to upload only the folder “woopress” that is located inside of this package. So I’ve moved “woopress” folder from wp-content/themes/WooPress_Responsive_Ecommerce_Wordpress_Theme to wp-content/themes directory. Please try to save your menu location now.

As for the button for Register link, add this code in custom.css:
```
.register-link {
  border: green solid 1px;
  border-radius: 6px;
  padding: 5px;
  background-color: green;
}
```
Write your color value.

thanks so much Eva, I thought I had corrected that in the beginning, I’m amazed anything worked then lol. I’ve got it working now thanks but there is a small snag with menu 2. The Work

Here is the menu so far

As I add posts to it, each drop-down gets longer and longer, but I would prefer it was like the products menu which is stretching horizontally as you add items.

So I would aim to have Earth / Emotion / Mind Sub Categories as headers under Work and the articles below them. I’ve also tried to use the css ‘menu-full-width menu-column1 to 4’ for these sub-headings..

I’m also unable to add new categoriess from the posts to this menu now, I could do it fine before… such as the POST categoriess called ‘Health Articles or Resources’, it doesn’t show up in the list which you can ‘Add to Menu’.

Hello,

You added CSS class “menu-column1” for “The work” menu item that’s why one column was shown. I’ve changed it to “menu-column5”. Please check “The work” drop down menu now.

I’ve added “Health Articles” category as a submenu for “The work” parent menu item and it has been saved successfully.

Thanks Eva, It seems I misunderstood that menu-column5 meant a menu with 5 columns, rather than make this menu the 5th column.

So that is working now.

Can you tell me where the menu background colours are found please?

Thanks Eva, yes, I found that already but it only changes the band at the top and not the white background of the actual drop-down menus, I guess it’s a style sheet tweak needed?

The white menu drop down can sometimes merge too much with the site background if it’s also white.

Box Shadow
Also, the menu on the below theme has a slight shadow too, I would like to use that and increase the intensity that just in case I decide to stick with the white background.

I’ve tried the green css tweak for the Register button you mentioned to add into the custom.css and no change has happened

Hello,

To change background color for drop down menu please add this code in custom.css:
```
.menu .nav-sublist-dropdown {
   background-color: green !important;
}
```
You disabled top bar in Theme Options > Header and Register link wasn’t shown. I’ve enabled it. Please check it now. You should be non-logged in to your wp-admin panel to check register link on the site.

Could you please show a screenshot what Box Shadow you mean?

Thanks Eva,

I’ve added that code into the custom.css and changed the color to 000000 but there is no change to the menu or adding of shadow that I can see, are you sure that’s all that is needed?
