Product Category order - by ajoywebdesign

Hi,

Under the product categories (I believe this might also be considered an archive page), the product categories are sorted by alphabetical order; however, I would like them to appear in Category Order specified by the product categories page.

I know how to do this in the widget product categories, but I do not know how to make the product categories appear in a certain order on the product category pages.

Hello,

Do you want to change order of product categories in sidebar on product pages?
Please provide us with wp-admin panel credentials in Private Content.

Hi,

So, hopefully I was clear enough, but if you visit: http://assessmentleaders.com/product-category/products/assessments/pre-hire/

And scroll to the bottom, you’ll see that the “product categories” on the left hand sidebar are in this order:

–ASSESSMENTS
BUILD TEAMS
DEVELOP LEADERS
MANAGE & COACH
OPTIMIZE SALES
PRE-HIRE
SUCCESSION PLANNING
SURVEY / AUDITS
TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
WELLNESS

But, I need them to be in this order:

–ASSESSMENTS
PRE-HIRE
MANAGE & COACH
BUILD TEAMS
OPTIMIZE SALES
DEVELOP LEADERS
SUCCESSION PLANNING
WELLNESS
SURVEY / AUDITS
TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

I currently have the products configured on the product categories page in the dashboard to be in the order I’d like them to be in, and they are displaying in the correct order in the footer under the dropdown of “Product Categories.”

Let me know if there is a way to organize these categories and if I have to change a archive.php file in my child theme.

Hello,

You need go to Appearance > Widgets > add “Woocommerce Product Categories” widget to “Shop Sidebar” area and select “Category Order” in “Order by” field in the widget settings.
