All In One SEO issue with latest 2.3 version
Seems both the new version of their plugin and something in your them are declaring the same thing.. Never had this issue with their plugin until their latest update.

I guess you’ll tell me you don’t support plugins.. but it is a widely used one I thought you should be aware of this.. I asked them for support as well.. I’ll see who resolves it first ;0)

Hello,

Unfortunately, as you’ve already written, we don’t guarantee full compatibility of 3rf-party plugins with our theme. We’re sorry but we didn’t test all plugins with the theme. You should wait for an answer from their support team.

What a sweet cynical answer.. (if it’s not on purpose it’s even worse).

I’m sure.. or at least hope you test the big players like WPML and Gravity Forms ;0) Well IMO All In One SEO, Yoast WordPress SEO Plugin and WP Social SEO Booster or Visual Composer are a few that all WP themes developers should make sure they interact with.. if these cause issues you guys can always interface directly with their makers saying end user a few steps.

In this specific issue: I’m not sure what “Best Practice” says.. there must be someone “at fault” between you guys.. when it comes to this.. I’m not knowledgeable enough about “WP Best Practices” to point fingers clearly..

BUT THIS..
Cannot redeclare add_term_meta()

..in any case your theme is the only one I get this issue with.. and I manage quite a few WP websites..

Maybe later on a test site, definitely NOT on my client’s live site. Here’s the answer by the All In One SEO team.. How about your people deal with their people ? Directly to get a copy of the plugin if you don’t already have access to it ? They seem willing to discuss, and then test it on one of your own test installs ? Seems more logical than fiddling around client sites like mine.. It’s definitely an issue with your theme, not with other plugins and so on.. I deactivated them all and I still get the error, so there’s nothing “magical or esoteric” you’ll see by logging into my site that you could not replicate on an install of yours.

Hi Ian,

We have confirmed that this is a known theme issue which the developers of that theme need to fix. It appears to have been reported to them by other users but nobody has responded. Sorry but currently there is nothing we can do in All in One SEO Pack to fix this, it’s bad code in that theme.

Concerning your issue we didn’t receive such complaints from other clients regarding “All in One SEO” plugin compatibility with our theme. We can have a look at your problem and investigate what is causing it to prevent such issues in future.
