I saw that xstore already supported a child theme. So I was curious that if I use the envato market plugin to update it, will all of my changes be overwritten again? Or is it fine because the demo data usually needs to be imported? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Hello,

Yes, Xstore theme supports child theme. When you update theme you should update parent theme only (xstore) and don’t touch child theme (xstore-child)!
Then you won’t lose changes in the child theme.
