Hello, I have 3 licenses for the Legenda theme. I have successfully updated one website to version 3.4 but the other two websites (with a different hosting provider) I am receiving this error when trying to activate the theme:
“API request call error. 1) Contact your server provider and make sure that OpenSSL system library is 1.0 or higher 2) Make sure that your purshase code is associated with buyer. If you bought theme using guest account create account with the same email that was used during purchase process.”
I have read other tickets on the same issue in the forum but after confirming both of the above solutions, I am unable to resolve this and require your help please.

We have explored your problem deeply and find out this error: cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 5000 milliseconds. You need to set max_execution_time = 3000 in .htaccess and php.ini – https://codex.wordpress.org/Common_WordPress_Errors#Maximum_execution_time_exceeded

php_value max_input_vars 5000
php_value max_execution_time 3000
Also I have now added the php.ini file with:
max_execution_time = 3000
Then I try to activate theme with purchase code but still receive same API request call error?

Ok I set it at 7000 but it is still not working. Also I see strange characters at the top bulletin: “Welcome to Legenda â�� Youâ��re almost ready to start selling :)”
Any other ideas to resolve this issue? My site has been down for almost a week now.

Ok for some reason it is a plugin affecting login. I de-activated both Jetpack and Wordfence. Not sure which one but you should be able to log in now?

Ok I just de-activated the Jetpack and Wordfence plugins again. You should be able to log in now.
Also, I see that on this site you use 3.1 version that is not latest. Did you try to update theme on this site? Do you get the same http://prntscr.com/hsx9yh error when tried to activate theme?

Hello, I just deleted the Jetpack and Wordfence plugins in order to prevent the same error appearing when logging in. You should be able to log in now?
Also the theme has been updated version 3.4.

Hello this is happening again… I cannot successfully add the license theme code for 2 of my websites after I update them. It doesn’t allow me to do an auto-update for the theme, I have to manually update the theme every time. Please help thank you.
