Be so kind and give advice how to update theme without losing structure, changes made and all styles modifications made by my own.
When I’m upgrading theme from 1.7 to 2.0 website looks different even when I copy style.css file, responsive.css file and bootstrap.min.css file (I made changes in those files by my own). It is very problematic to return to the previous appearance my website.
I’ve contact with Envanto and they suggested that it should be solved by You.
You can find in themes selection version 1.7 and 2.0. If you will choose 2.0 version website will be look different – specially footer.
Please help me, I’m working as website designer freelancer, and it would be very useful for other users of your themes.
    Looking forward,
    Regards
    Artur

    Hello,

please make full backup before update, create child theme and move all customized theme files to child theme folder.
After that you may update theme.
Read more about child themes here : https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

    Regards,
    Stan Russell.

    Hi,
I updated as well to 2.0.
    Theme options —> import/export link is javascript:void(0)
Meaning that I cannot import custom settings

    Hello,

Please clarify what you want to do in Theme options —> import/export.
Have you created child theme and moved all your changes into there?
Please note we don’t recommend to modify files in the parent theme as all changes will be lost after theme update.
Please provide us with wp-admin panel and FTP credentials in Private Content. Confirm you have a back up of the site.
Clarify what exact issues you’re experiencing after theme update.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Hello @craftytrader,

We recommend to back up database too.
I’ve created a child theme for you and activated it in wp-admin panel > Appearance > Themes. Now you need to copy all files that you modified to the directory wp-content/themes/royal-child. After that update the theme.
Changes that you made in parent style.css file should be moved to style.css of the child theme (copy only the code that you modified and not the whole file).

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Thank you Eva!

Most thing looks great, but I have some problems.

    I can’t find possibility to add background in header (I made this in bootstrap.min.css – {display:block;background-image:url(../images/bg-header3.jpg); border-bottom:#fff solid 1px;} it doesn’t work.

In contact form I needed change labels to polish (how to fix it automatically?) and there is problem with CAPTCHA image – no showing. The same problem was when I contact you at the beginning when I purchased that theme.

    Looking for information,

    Best regards,
    Artur

    Hello,

I’ve uploaded your background image via Theme Options > Color Scheme > Header Background.
Please check. Now you need change menu items color in Theme Options > Typography > Menu Font.

I’ve edited the file .htaccess in the directory wp-content/themes/royal/framework/inc/really-simple-captcha/tmp and captcha image is showing now. Please clear browser cache and check.
Please specify what labels you need to change on Contact page.

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson.

    Hello,

Please ask your host to check mail logs on a server. Some notices should be displayed there why emails can’t be sent.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Hallo Eva,

If it will be necessary I will do this, but the same situation was in my first contact with you (few months ago) and You fixed it. Before theme update to version 2.0, it works properly.

Be so kind and try to solved that problem as before. If it will be impossible, I will try to contact my host provider to check it on their side.

    Looking forward,

    Regards,
    Artur

    Hello,

If you’re talking about this topic https://www.8theme.com/topic/no-captcha-image-on-site-and-visual-composer-problem/ the problem was caused by wrong permissions for captcha images, but now captcha form is working, so we recommend you to contact your hosting support to check mail logs.

    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Hello Eva,

I have contacted my provider and they checked everything.
Problem is not on the provider side. The theme is trying to sent email by not existing email address: wordpress@dworeksiadlo.pl
I have no idea from which setting it is setup! Before theme upgrade it works properly.
I have created email address wordpress@dworeksiadlo.pl on my server and contact form is working.

I feel a slight disappointment to solve my problem.

    Anyway thank you.

    Artur

    Hello,

wordpress@domain_name is a default email address that is always used to send emails via contact form.
So is your issue resolved now?

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Hello Eva,
In all my settings is: dworek@dworeksiadlo.pl
Before theme update contact form works properly.
    After update it doesn’t.
If you had knowledge that default email is wordpress@domain_name you should inform me that I need to create email address on my server or change it by your own in theme options.
I have created email address wordpress@dworeksiadlo.pl on my server and contact form is working – this helping information I received from my server provider.

    Regards,
    Artur

    Hello,

    Sorry for misleading you.
My fault. The email address is taken from Theme Options > Contact Form. Please try to activate parent theme and disable all 3rd-party plugins and check contact form after that. Also update all required plugins to the latest versions https://www.8theme.com/download-plugins/ .

    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.
