…thankfully I had just backed up.
If you upgrade via the Envato plugin, it kills all your own work on the theme. All I did was click to upgrade:
No other options or dialogues were given. I did read and assumed that I would see the wizard that was mentioned – and that it could then be skipped as per the post to avoid the problem. But there was no wizard. After clicking to upgrade, that’s it, it was off……..
Previous upgrades had worked via the Envato plugin without this problem.
Please can you advise. In production, this would have been a disaster….. thankfully I devtest first.
Thanks,
R.
I did read this, is what I was referring to:

the link was stripped out….
Hello,
Could you please, describe me in details what have you lost: Theme Options or changes in files or widgets? Did you change the name of theme folder?
Regards
Hello,
I touched nothing other than the update button in the screenshot, as I have done in the past with success on other upgrade versions. No theme folder was changed. I was running a child theme of xstore, that remained set in place when I checked after the upgrade issue.
I had to revert to a previous backup to be able to get my work done, but I do remember that colours and red Xstore imagery suddenly appeared across the frontend of the template immediately after that upgrade button click. So presumably theme options had been wiped…

No idea about widgets – I never had to time to investigate totally. The change was dramatic enough to need to revert to the backup
Hello,
Let me know when you decide to update theme and to avoid any problems I’ll do this for you.
