Brands disappeared after chaging from another them to Legenda..

Hello, my Brands disappeared after chaging from another theme to Legenda..I don’t understand how that is possible, isn’t the Brands thing a WooCommerce feature that should remain even through Theme changes ? Is this something you’ve heard of before ?

They must still be in the database, because when I try recreating them they add a -2 at the end of the slug..

I understood.. the theme I used before actually had its own Brands table in the database.. Is the way you handle brands compatible with theme change later on ? Just asking so I understand things a little better hopefully.. Love your theme so not likely to change it any soon.. but out of curiosity.. My brain needs food ;0)

Hello,

Did you use 8theme – Brands filter widget from Appearance > Widgets or some plugin? Try to create brands with our widget. Here is the instruction: https://www.8theme.com/demo/docs/legenda/index.html#!/single_product_page > Brands.

Thanks but my question wasn’t this.. the previous theme I used used its own specific table for Brands, so I was wondering if your theme uses a more “regular” approach.. basically Brands using Legenda are set in the wp-terms table.. so I guess they would get carried over if we were to apply another theme that followed the same approach.. whcih I geuss is best practice for WooCommerce ?!

Whereas my previous theme had created its own specific table for brands, something like wp-nameoftheme-brands.. hence why they did not show up when I switched to Legenda.

Is my question clearer ?

Hello,

Yes, brands are stored in the wp_terms table. But we don’t know will it works in another theme or not. About this information you should contact developers of the theme, which you want to install.

I’m not planning on changing themes any soon, I like Legenda (we just got it not long ago btw) it was just a curiosity question :0)
