    Hi guys,

    We’re using your theme with our site and we’re finding that when we add more than around 60 items or so to the menu it’s failing to take effect.

    Either the menu items over 60 are deleted when the menu is saved or the theme unassigns the menu as the primary menu and we’re left with no menu at all. We’ve tried increasing wordpress memory and php.ini memory but it’s not helping. Switching to a default theme it works fine, it’s only Royal theme that is causing the issues.

    I’ve included site login details in private content (site is still being worked on) so please feel free to try adding additional menu items and see for yourself.

    Thank you!

    Please, contact administrator

    Hello,

    Please contact your hosting provider and ask them to change PHP Max Input Vars value from 1000 to 5000. After that check the menu.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Hi,

    Thanks for response. As mentioned, we’ve already looked at the PHP.ini set up. The following has been set since we initially began trying to sort this issue;

    suhosin.post.max_vars = 5000
    suhosin.request.max_vars = 5000

    Any other suggestions please?

    Thank you

    Hello,

    Now we can’t access wp-admin panel as setup-config file is loading. Are you reinstalling WordPress?

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Hi guys,

    Had to switch to another theme as we couldn’t wait any longer with the menu issue. We’re planning to use the theme for another part of our site instead within the next month or so – so although this isn’t any issue right now, could you tell me please if this is a known issue that has affected other customers of yours in the past please?

    Thank you

    Hello,

    The issue with menu was caused only by low value of PHP Max Input Vars. In Woocommerce System Status I saw you had it set to 1000, that’s why I suggested you to increase it to 5000.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Thanks Eva,

    We did initially change the php.ini file but you were right, it wasn’t actually taking effect – using the WooCommerce status screen helped us see if the php.ini changes were happening.

    For anyone else having this issue, this link is a good tutorial for beginners increasing the PHP allowance on your server.

    Theme is working like a dream now with a massive 80+ item menu, thanks so much 🙂
