Hi,
We make use of grouped and simple products, for example we have a product which has a few sizes. Once the customer adds the product to the cart when clicking on the product from the cart it directs me to the child product and not the parent (grouped) product page. Please can you let me know how this can be achieved. Rather than going to the individual product would like for it to be redirected to the grouped product.
Kind regards
gcl
Hello,
Thank you for getting in touch with us.
Please check how it works when the default WooCommerce theme – Storefront is activated (Appearance > Themes).

It shows the child but no link. Is it possible to link to the grouped product?
Hello,
Sorry but your answer is a bit unclear to us.
Could you describe in more details with videos?
If behavior is independent of the activated theme on site, we would recommend you to contact support of WooCommerce, because grouped products functionality come from them.
Additional customization in files is outside the scope of our basic support.

Hi,
I tried changing the theme, but when changing back to xstore my settings have all gone. Luckily I have a backup stored somewhere else. Can you let me know which files I need to restore so that I can restore all my previous settings?
Hello,
Settings should not gone just by changing the theme for a test.
Do you use a child theme? Maybe child theme was activated before but now you activated parent theme? These 2 themes have different settings.

Thank you, this is working now. I will compare the two themes and show the difference relating to my initial question.
Hello,
You’re welcome!

Hi,
I need a bit of help regarding the main and child theme. As you correctly mentioned I used the main theme and thought I had lost all of my settings, due to this I made changes to the main theme but now the child theme seems to be affected as I don’t have the product category list on when browsing the catalogue. Is it possible to reset the settings on the main theme so that the child theme is showing correctly?
Hello,
When you change the theme on site, widgets may change positions, but it can be simply fixed: go to Appearance > Widgets > add Product categories widget into the Shop sidebar area https://prnt.sc/Tdfn4WShVQ_S

This worked. Thank you.
So back to my original issue, when I open the basket I can see the products but clicking on them goes to the child product instead of the grouped product.
The child products are all hidden but they still show when a user clicks on the link. Is there a way to stop child products being viewed and also when they click on the products in the basket it goes to the main grouped product page.
Hello,
Please answer the first question we asked you: how it works with the Storefront theme activated?
We suppose that your question is independent of our theme functionality, and you need to contact WoooCommerce support with your request – https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce/

On the default Woocommerce theme it does not show the full product name it only shows the Child product, with Xstore it shows the Grouped product > Child.
Dear,
I need to get from you more detailed explanation with screenshots or even videos to be able to pass this topic to dev team.
Use Lightshot screenshot or Gyazo tool to make screenshots and share the links here, or you can use a file-sharing service such as WeTransfer https://wetransfer.com/ to upload ready photos there and provide us with URLs.

Hello,
If we have understood you correctly, your request was as follows:
1. If a product is a group product (i.e., it consists of several other products), then all these products are purchased when buying the group product.
2. When switching to cards, if a product was a child product (added from a group product), the link was not to it but to its group product (from which it was added).
3. This cannot be implemented because when adding a group product, all regular products are simply added and there is nothing unique to know that it was specifically added from a group product.
If you would like to pursue paid customization services, we recommend submitting a customization request to the Codeable team via their website: https://www.codeable.io/?ref=qGTdX
