    Hello,

I was trying to update my theme. I use WPEngine and used their staging site system to attempt the theme update before making live. Unfortunately, obvious items like the logo in the header and font choices are all gone. Please help!

I tried uploading the legenda theme folder by both overwriting the existing, and by deleting the legenda theme folder on the server and replacing with new theme folder. Both gave the same results.

Also, in the support of this issue, could you help me know what I did wrong in updating the parent theme if possible – I can imagine we’ll be updating more in the future, and I’d like to know what to do next time. 🙂

    Thanks,
    Tyler

    Hello,

    Sorry for the delay.
We need a full access to the wp-admin panel to help you correct update theme. Please check credentials.
Also, confirm that you made the full backup of the site, DB and theme options (Theme Options > Import/Export > Options > Export Options).
Note that was big woocommerce update, so many elements in the plugin and our theme functionality were changed. So you may need to edit your changes in the child theme to proper work with new versions.

    Regards,
    Rose Tyler.

    Hello Rose Tyler,

Are you talking about credentials to the actual live site or that the credentials for the staging site didn’t work? I’m happy to supply, just confused about the ask.

I have the backup of the site. Do you need it?

    Many thanks,
    Tyler

    Hello,

Please provide credentials to both sites (wp-admin and ftp) where you need to update the theme.

Note that after updating theme via WPEngine, you need to import your theme options (Theme Options > Import/Export > Options) from your export file, that you made before the update.

    Regards,
    Rose Tyler.

    Hello,

I’ve checked your site http://prntscr.com/fspabs. The 3.2 version is latest now. Is your problem solved?
To prevent losing such settings as logo and font, simply export your Theme Options before the update and import these settings after.

    Regards,
    Rose Tyler.

I’m sorry Rose Tyler, but I logged in and it is still showing Legenda version 3.0.2 for me on both parent and child. Shouldn’t the Parent be upgraded to 3.2?

    Hello,

We have updated the theme on your staging site and made some changes in function.php of your child theme because your code in this file made the site broken. Please check the site and you can transfer it to your main site.

    Regards,
    Rose Tyler.

    Sorry Rose Tyler,

I tried deploying it to my live site and it strips out logos and some of the formatting still. If I go and import the export code that is generated, will that fix it? I haven’t done it because Legenda is taking me through the activation process again.

    Hello,

You need to enter your purchase code to activate the theme and skip Setup Wizard. Then import your Theme options.

    Regards,
    Rose Tyler.
