    I’ve installed your newest version of Royal theme and the included Child Theme does not work. It says Broken Theme. I tried to created a child theme myself, but it is pointing to another theme in WordPress.org that has the same name “royal”. Please, I need to run the website with a Child theme, as you guys already know, for updates and customizations.Child Theme not working for Royal 2.8

    Hello,

    All plugins are external extensions which are included into theme because for each product we purchase “Extended license” and that’s why we are able to include it into them.
    This plugins work fine without activation and you can always get actual version if you want directly from us.
    We update plugins with theme updates time to time so with each next theme update, plugins will be also updated.
    The option with registering of these plugins has been already added to plugin and this only allow you to get automatic updates and support for this plugin directly from author if you need.
    You don’t need to register this product because it is not required but if you want to get those features, then you need to purchase this plugin directly from author. This is how it works for all themes on Themeforest and not only in our case.
    You can download the latest plugins versions at this link https://www.8theme.com/download-plugins/ ,
    enter your purchase code of the theme to get the plugins.

    Please provide us with wp-admin and FTP credentials in Private Content to check issue with the Child Theme.

    Regards,
    Robert Hall

    Hello,

    Now there are errors:
    Error: Connection timed out
    Error: Could not connect to server

    Is the access on the server blocked by Firewall or something?

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Hello,

    The problem was you named “royal” folder as “Royal_Theme-v2.8”, but in child style.css template is written as “royal”.
    I’ve changed it to “Royal_Theme-v2.8” as your parent theme folder is named.
    Check themes in Appearance > Themes now.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Hi Eva,
    Thanks. I actually did not name the child theme, I used the one you have in the theme folder from Themeforest. That is named wrong. I believe it should be renamed there also.
    Thank you now that you have fixed it for me. I really appreciate your quick response.

    That is how the style.css in your theme folder comes:
    /*
    Theme Name: Royal Child
    Theme URI: https://www.8theme.com/
    Description: Royal Child Theme
    Author: 8theme
    Author URI: https://www.8theme.com
    Template: ROYAL – 8theme WordPress theme
    Version: 0.0.1
    Text Domain: royal-child
    */

    and now that’s how you had it fixed for me (the one that works):

    /*
    Theme Name: Royal Child
    Theme URI: https://www.8theme.com/
    Description: Royal Child Theme
    Author: 8theme
    Author URI: https://www.8theme.com
    Template: Royal_Theme-v2.8
    Version: 0.0.1
    Text Domain: royal-child
    */
