Condense the categories list on homepage

How do I condense the categories list on the homepage so that its not so lengthy. I just want the 2nd tier subcategories to be listed. Also how do I widen the margins on the categories list so they all show in single row.. I am referring to the categories list below, “List of all categories XStore”

I’d like to push the product category list more to the right closer to the other images on the page so I get single line subcategories.

How do I make the main categories in the list of categories bold so they stand out.
Example: Stainless Storage Cabinets category

Bold: Wall Cabinets, Glass Rack Cabinet, Stainless Steel Cabinets, Dish Cabinets
Not Bold: Stainless Storage cabinets with backsplash, stainless storage cabinets
