The contact form is not working correctly. Anything I do, it is giving me this error: Error while ajax request
I have deactivated all the plugins and the issue remains.
Please F/U. Thank you.
Hello,
Sorry for a delay.
Please try to send emails via SMTP using one of these plugins:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-wp-smtp/

Best regards,
Jack Richardson.
It will be really helpful if you tell me what these plugins are for–I have absolutely no clue how to proceed with your vague instructions.
I installed this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-wp-smtp/
So what’s next? Contact form still is not working — has same error….
Does the contact form and live chat use the same plugin? Because live chat contact form isn’t working as well.
Hello,
Chat isn’t working because you didn’t write email address in settings, go to Chat Console in wp-admin panel > Options > General Settings > “Where should offline messages go?”.
The problem with contact for caused by https links you wrote in Settings > General for Site Name. I’ve changed them to http and contact form is working now.
Please clear browser cache and check.

Eva Kemp.
Thank you!
How can I modify the contact form? For example, change the name of the input areas? Also, I would like to modify the email’s format that is sent to the recipient after form is submitted. Thank you.
Hello,
You can change it in wp-content/themes/woopress/framework/shortcodes.php file on line 237 and 244.
Regards,
Robert Hall.
I never want to edit my parent theme in case your theme updates. That said, I have downloaded the file “shortcodes.php” from parent them and uploded it under child theme (woopress-child/framework/shortcodes.php) but no luck. I used the same directory as parent but no luck. I even uploaded it in the root and no changes are seen.
Please advise.
Hello,
I’ve added the code for contact form to functions.php file in the child theme.
Please check Contact page now.
Regards,
Eva Kemp.
Thanks! Does that I mean I can delete the shortcode.php within the child theme?
Hello,
You’re welcome.
Yes, you can delete shortcode.php within the child theme.

Eva Kemp.
Thank you for confirming!
