When I follow the wordpress.org instructions to create a backup on my localhost, the result is that the localhost redirects me back to the live site. Is there a standard procedure for making modifications to both the sql database file and WordPress settings?

    I did the following:
    – search and replace for URLs in the wp_wfHits table
    – updated the wp_options table (site url)
    – search and replace for guid in the wp_posts table
    – modified Dashboard > Settings > General with localhost URLs

I’m still having trouble with absolute vs relative links in the wp-content > uploads folder

    Hello,

    Thank you for explanation.
It’s difficult to find the reason when the site is hosted locally. You may try to check permissions for the folders of images or perhaps you didn’t copy all files.
    Try to reupload the theme.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.
