Hi,
Our VPS has been crashing and working with the hosting tech guys, they found that one of our xstore websites are generating an enormous amount of database queries.
When the hosting company kills them they are generated with about 15 mins.
This has been happening for a few months, here and there. Now it is constant.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
It has been 1 day and 3 hours.
My support ticket says there is 1 reply, but I do not see it.
What am I doing wrong?
Hello, thesicilian,
We apologize for the delay. The issue you are experiencing may be caused by certain theme options such as the Fake Sale Popup, Wishlist for Product Variations, or the Variation Gallery. Kindly check if these options are enabled. Additionally, we would appreciate it if you could provide us with access to your website (both admin panel and FTP) so that we can perform a thorough diagnosis.
Best regards,
8Theme Team
Hi,
We do use the sale popup.
We can kill the wishlist.
I’ll wait for you all to login and test.
Thank you so much!
Thank you for providing access to your website.
1) We have noticed that you are currently using two different wishlists: one from the theme and another from the YITH WooCommerce Wishlist plugin. We kindly ask you to decide which one you would prefer to use moving forward.
2) It is necessary to update your theme to the latest version to ensure optimal performance and compatibility.
3) We recommend redesigning your header using our new Header Builder (based on Elementor). This tool is more resource-efficient and will improve your website’s performance.
Best regards,

Hi,
The issue still comtines, the hosting company has given more info:
It looks like every PHP process opened by the curlylife.com.au website, opens a connection to the database, proceeding to sleep, doing nothing with the connection.
This appears to be the cause of the load generated by MySQL.
As such to resolve the MySQL load you would need to determine what is spawning these processes and reduce or resolve these processes.
This may involve some kind of debugging process to identify what the processes are being spawned by and doing as unfortunately, the only information that is shown to us, identified using the top -c command, is that the processes originate from the PHP code of both the curlylife.com.au site and backend.
Hope this helps to source the troublespot.
Thanks in advance.
Hello, thesicilian,
We would like to inform you that we have disabled the following options for your account, as they typically generate additional AJAX requests:
– Sale Booster -> Fake Sale Popup
– Sale Booster -> Fake Live Viewing
– Sale Booster -> Item Sold Fake Indicator
Please note that everything else on the theme’s side has been configured correctly.
We kindly recommend disabling third-party plugins and rechecking the load to assess the performance again.
Should you have any further questions or require assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Best regards,
8Theme Team
Hi Andrew,
This didn’t help, the server still keeps crashing.
Also, I know we need to troubleshot, but if the sales booster features are there to help sales, turning them off defeats the point.
The hosting company also said:
“It may be possible to have your developers edit the site so that it only opens a connection to the database when it needs to perform a query, as it appears all of these processes are not doing anything with the MySQL connection they open.”
I am at a loss … my VPS keeps crashing 6-8 times a day for about 5 mins each time
Hello, thesicilian,
We hope this message finds you well.
Regarding the “Sales Booster Features,” please note that any additional functionality typically requires additional resources.
We have made some adjustments to the following features:
– Sale Booster -> Fake Sale Popup
– Sale Booster -> Fake Live Viewing
– Sale Booster -> Item Sold Fake Indicator
Additionally, we have temporarily removed the waitlist feature (as the issue might be related to it). Could you please check the current server load and let us know if there are any changes?
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Best regards,
8Theme Team
