Editing the Footer / Deleting demo content

I’ve imported the demo content into the theme and I’m trying to delete the demo content from the footer and replace it with my content. I’m not familiar with code editing.

How can I edit the footer?

From the wordpress dashboard, go to Appearance > Widgets

There are widget areas for the footer. You have to stick something in there, even if they are empty text widgets, to replace the demo stuff.

Wait … I found a better way if you just need to remove the demo content:

Go to Theme Options > General and switch off “show footer demo blocks
