Hey guys,
I use the theme “electronics”.
Can someone please tell me how to add categories in the search box?
So there is “All categories” in the demo. On my WordPress version, I removed the sample categories that were there first. Of course, no more are listed there. But how do I get my self-created categories in there?
I would be glad about help 🙂
Please excuse my bad english.
Best regards
Hello,
To create product categories go to Dashboard > Products > Categories
https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/managing-product-taxonomies/#section-1
Let us know if you need any further assistance.
Thanks in advance.

yes thanks for the quick answer. Unfortunately it does not solve my problem. I know how to create product categories. My problem is:
The theme “electronics” of xstore has a filter for categories at the top of the search bar. So a dropdown menu. There, the product categories created by me are not listed.

Hello,
In this case, provide us with your website URL and temporary wp-admin accesses in Private Content, so we can take a closer look.

probably you are very trustworthy, but I reluctantly send you my data: /
Below are 2 screenshots. Screenshot 1 shows what my website looks like at the moment. I have created product categories that can also be found in my navigation. The category filter in the search bar is still empty. Screenshot 2 is a theme preview of the same theme. There, the created categories are also displayed in the search bar.

Hello,
Make sure that you also added products to your categories because there is no need to display empty category for search.

Oh yeah. I should have noticed. I’m sorry.
Thank you very much 🙂 It works
You are welcome.
do not hesitate to ask if you have any other questions (in a new post/topic)
