Elementor – Single Product Page – Variations Not Showing

Hello,

We’re editing the single product page using the Elementor editor (as prompted by the theme), and we can’t seem to show the variations on the front end as images.

For example: We have attributes that are colours (as image squares – an option from the theme), but they only show as “additional details” as plain text when brought into elementor.

We need to show these as images and ideally would like to use this as a module, so that we can have multiple attribute sets, all with images, for each product.

Please bear in mind our website is in catalogue mode as we’re not “selling these” online, but they are set to “show variations” on product page.

Please record a video of the problem for a better understanding. Upload it on a filesharing service, for example – https://wetransfer.com/ , and provide us with URL.

Hello,

We’re happy to provide details on this, we have attached a visualised solution below and problem.

Essentially we can’t find any way using elementor for the product builder, to display variations with images. We can’t seem to find the block for it. – For showing the actual variations, OR for allowing the user to select a variation (linked to an image).

Hello, @KSwan,

We would like to take this opportunity to provide you with an explanation.

Two different product attributes are available in WooCommerce, local and global product attributes. In WooCommerce both options are called attributes, but there is a difference in the functionality of these attributes.

Global attributes: These are the properties that you will find in the WP-Admin under Product > Attributes. All attributes created here are at on a global website level and can be used with all products.

Local attributes: These attributes are created when you create or edit a product. You cannot use these attributes to filter and they are only visible on the product page itself.

Hello,

Whilst I understand the logic of these variables, I’m still not able to display these on the frontend either way.

All the global attributes do not show at all on the single product page with Elementor for the single page, and there isn’t a “block” to add for these either.

This is the problem.

We understand this may not align with your expectations, and we apologize for any frustration this may have caused.

Hello.

So essentially I can’t display variable products at all If I use the Elementor builder?

If this is the case I may need to discuss the use of the theme further as It’s a basic function on any ecommece site to be able to “pick a colour” or “variation”?

Is there no way to do this using the elementor single product builder, which is prompted by the theme?

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the issue you’re facing with displaying variable products using the Elementor builder.

After thorough investigation, we regret to inform you that our theme currently does not provide an option or functionality to showcase attributes separately on the Single Product page. Specifically, local attributes, which are created during product creation or editing, cannot be used for filtering and are only visible on the product page itself.

However, our theme supports global attributes for variation swatches. As a default functionality, XStore allows the display of image attributes on variable products near the “Add to Cart” button. Unfortunately, the separation of variation swatches into a distinct block is not supported.
