Hi there, Siteground support detected an issue in a very specific circumstance: high traffic, Siteground “under attack” with their CDN active for our site. I’m posting their response in the private content area.

Can you give us some setup tips or can this be fixed not to happen in the future?

    Please, contact administrator
    for this information.

    Hello, @Parhelion,

We regret to learn that you have encountered an issue with your website, which your hosting provider has attributed to our theme’s core plugin. Upon reviewing your site, we have determined that the theme and core plugin currently in use are outdated. As a preliminary step, we respectfully recommend updating both to the latest versions. You can find the theme’s update history at the following link: https://xstore.8theme.com/update-history/

For guidance on updating the theme, please refer to: https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/theme-installation/theme-update/

Instructions for updating the plugin are available here: https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/plugins/plugins-update/

Additionally, we have observed that your website is utilizing a Child Theme with custom code. It is possible that this customization may be conflicting with the Core plugin. We suggest temporarily activating the Parent Theme to rule out any potential conflicts.

We also note the presence of numerous third-party plugins on your site. To determine if there is a conflict with our Core plugin, we advise deactivating all third-party plugins and then reactivating them one by one. This process will help identify if a specific plugin is causing the issue.

Note: Please take a complete backup of your site before following these steps, as they may affect your site.

To further optimize your website’s performance, we offer the following general tips:

    1. Verify that your website’s caching mechanisms are correctly configured to minimize server load during periods of high traffic.

    2. If not already in place, consider implementing a Web Application Firewall (WAF) to safeguard your site against malicious traffic and mitigate the impact of any attacks.

    3. Regularly review and adjust your CDN’s security settings to ensure they meet your website’s requirements.

We trust that this information will be of assistance to you. Should you have any additional questions or require further support, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Best Regards,
    The 8Theme Team
