    Hi,
    I have a site that uses a favicon and one that doesn’t.

    (1) How do I ‘turn off’ the default Blanco favicon?
    Currently I’ve just renamed it so it can’t be found but its seems that the theme or WordPress is trying to find/use it. The url /wp-content/themes/blanco/images/favicon.ico appears regularly in the stats ‘last url’ from the Who’s Online plugin.

    (2) How do I use my own favicon.
    It seems that I need to overwrite the one at /wp-content/themes/blanco/images/favicon.ico ?

    Thanks,
    Mike.

    Hello,

    1. You need edit the file header.php and comment the code <link rel="shortcut icon" href="<?php echo get_template_directory_uri().'/images/favicon.ico' ?>" /> in line 10.

    2. Yes, you need rename the icon /wp-content/themes/blanco/images/favicon.ico and upload your own with the name favicon.ico to the directory /wp-content/themes/blanco/images.

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson.
