Hi Eva,
My client has had a recurring issue. Most of the time, products post normally and he can add a featured image. However, sometimes (about every two weeks – urgh), he contacts me and tells me that he’s set a featured image and it isn’t showing up.
He’s absolutely correct. I go in and attempt to set the featured image and it doesn’t work for me either.
If I start over and input the product all over again, the featured image will work again. It’s bizarre and I have no idea why it keeps happening. Can you please take a look?
The product he’s having an issue with currently, so you can see for yourself, is “Now Gingko Biloba 120 mg”
When you log in, you will see that the featured image is set and appears as normal, but when you click “preview changes” the image doesn’t appear at all.
Thanks in advanced for your assistance.
Oh, I forgot to mention something that will hopefully be telling. When this issue occurs, the product information tabs don’t work as well.
Hello,
As I see you have 2 Legenda versions in Appearance > Themes, but should be only one – 2.4.1 version as you had to overwrite the existing files and not create new folder.
Please fix it.
Also we recommend you to update Woocommerce plugin to the latest version.
If it doesn’t help please provide us with FTP credentials as well.
Thank you.
Regards,
Eva Kemp.
Hi Eva,
I updated the Woocommerce plugin but do not see a way to remove one of the Legenda Themes under appearance. In the FTP, I’m only seeing one Legenda folder…
I’m including my FTP info in hidden content.
Thanks in advanced for your help.
Hello,
As I see there are a lot of errors of missed files:
Please check if you uploaded all files to the site.
Thank you.

Still no reply to my ticket: AMR-492-21312 dated October 27th
Hello,
As I see the image for the product “Now Ginkgo Biloba 120 mg” is shown.
Please check it.
Thank you.

Eva Kemp.
Weird. I think my client must have redone the product because it was definitely not working before. I’ll wait until it happens again and contact you then (and tell him not to mess with it during troubleshooting).
Any way you can permanently correct the two reoccurring home page errors that happen whenever the theme or WooCommerce is updated? You stated in past that you had fixed them both in the child theme, but the issues happened again.
1. On the home page, the products widget should be three products per row. Not sure why it messes up again after every update. Currently there are two products on one row, one on another. I tried to fix the settings myself, but when I put in the code you gave me in the CSS, it wasn’t corrected.
2. The second error is currently fixed, but the first category in the left sidebar automatically toggles open. Would like that to be closed when page is loaded. (+ Shop by Brand)
3. Can you please make sure all files are there? You said some were missing.
4. If this incurs a fee, please just let me know what that is.
Thanks
Hello,
I’ve activated Legenda-child in wp-admin panel > Appearance > Themes and products are shown fine now.
Please check.
Also “+ Shop by Brand” category in sidebar is closed by default.
All files seem to be present as there are no errors any more.
Thank you.
Regards,
Eva Kemp.
Thank you! Looks good.

Okay, the issue with my client just happened again… Here is the info:

The product he’s having an issue with currently, so you can see for yourself, is “Now Taurine 1000 MG” (link in Private Content)
When you log in, you will see that the featured image is set and appears as normal, but when you click “preview changes” the image doesn’t appear at all. I understand that the product can be inputted from scratch and will work. I need to know the cause of why it keeps happening. He’s very unhappy with me because this keeps happening and I don’t have an explanation.
Thanks in advanced for your assistance.
Hello,
As I see the image is used with .gif extension. Please try to upload images in .png or .jpg format.
Thank you.
Regards,
Eva Kemp.
I just tried to upload a .jpg and it still didn’t work. Plus, the tabs don’t work either. So, it’s not just a photo issue. The image that he had uploaded before is showing up in “Media.” It just isn’t appearing on the product page on the front end.
Hello,
Wrong code was written in the product description.
I’ve removed it and the image has appeared.
Please check it.
Thank you.
Regards,
Eva Kemp.
It looks good now, but can you please tell me what code he had put in the description that messed it up so I can ensure he doesn’t do it again?
Thanks.
Okay this is crazy. I’m clicking on any product he’s put in recently and they’re all messed up. He doesn’t know much HTML at all, outside of tags. So, there’s no way he put in all this code like this… etc:
<![endif]–> <!– [if gte IE 7]>

<![endif]–> <!– [if gte IE 8]>

<![endif]–>//

There’s no way he typed that all in himself or pasted that. In past, the code simply looks like this on a product description:
Quantity: 30 capsules
What is ImmPower’s secret for enhancing your immune system and energy? ImmPower contains a substance called Active Hexose Correlated Compound, an amazingly potent substance derived from a new, extremely powerful, hybrid mushroom with superior immune-enhancing properties. ImmPower helps to activate a type of white blood cell in your immune system called Natural Killer (NK) cells. NK cells are literally born to kill. They are constantly on patrol looking for harmful cells that would like to take up residence in your body and destroy your health. When NK cells find these “body invaders,” they shoot them with cytotoxic granules, causing them to explode…and keeping you safe from harm. In addition to this very important role, NK cells also help regulate total immune response, ensuring that all aspects of your immune system’s “army, air force, and marines” are alerted and functioning at peak levels.
He uses the “blockquote” button to make the “Quantity” show up looking “cool.” And he uses the bold button. That’s it…
Any idea why all of the code for the most recent products are full of this whacky code about Google Analytics and stuff? I’m seeing that a TON of his products aren’t showing product images or tabs now due to this code.
I don’t know if it’s him or if it’s the theme doing this. What could he possibly be doing wrong to make this happen? Nothing makes sense.
Please see private content.
Okay. So I think somehow he’s copying text from other websites to put on his website and it’s picking up all this whacky code that they have on their site. Because he sells vitamins and supplements, he goes to each product brand’s website to get descriptions. I’ve tried to replicate the code through copying and pasting, but haven’t been successful.
I’d really like to get to the bottom of this and make absolute sure this is his fault and nothing to do with the theme. You and I would both prefer it be his fault, (LOL), but don’t want to say so unless I’m 100% certain. I’m feeling confident that this is HIS issue.
Can you please tell me if the code that’s showing up looks like code from your theme? Any ideas of HOW he could be copying and pasting wrong? (I know that isn’t your problem. I’m so confused, so just wondering if you have any ideas for me on that?) For instance, I copied some text from a website that included social media buttons and it definitely copied some extra weird stuff, but didn’t replicate the scripts and things that keep appearing in each product’s description.
THANK YOU for your diligence on this matter and for discovering the description coding. I’m so sorry I didn’t discover that sooner. I felt like I had checked EVERYTHING, but I was wrong.
Hello,
If your client uses html editor for writing products descriptions he has to write simple text, like
This product has twice the Taurine (1,000 mg) as in our regular strength product (500 mg).
and not all that code. It creates a conflict.
Where has he copied it from?
Also he can write description in Visual editor and don’t need to copy any code.
Thank you.
Regards,
Eva Kemp.
I’m not sure what you guys are doing over there (I appreciate you working on the site), but I see that the files were all updated today (not by me) and now this problem is occurring for the upteenth time:
https://www.8theme.com/topic/woocommerce-categories-widget-toggling/
Last we talked (maybe two weeks ago), this was permanently fixed. Other than that everything appears to be okay. I do appreciate that you guys are looking into this for me.
Thanks
He’s using the visual editor. He highlights the text and makes some of it bold using the “b” button and highlights another part and uses the blockquote button. He just uses what’s available in the editor’s kitchen sink.
He doesn’t know HTML coding. I taught him how to do image tags and break tags. That’s all he knows how to do as far as coding.
He’s copying and pasting from websites. For instance, he sells products by the brand “Now Foods.” He generally goes directly to the manufacturer’s website and copies the description to use on his website. So for instance, here is a link to a page he might copy and paste from:
http://www.nowfoods.com/Glucosamine-and-Chondroitin-Extra-Strength-120-Tablets.htm
I tried to duplicate how he could copy and paste wrong. I copied the text, included the social media buttons and it definitely added in some extra formatting.
I just sent him an email explaining that he needs to use the “paste without formatting” or “paste as plain text” option.
I just want to make sure it’s 100% his fault. I’m assuming that it is. I really appreciate your assistance.
Another issue that appeared when you just now updated the site:
When you click on “Shop by Brand” in the left sidebar, the following errors appear:
Warning: strpos() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in /home/totalnut/public_html/wp-includes/shortcodes.php on line 196
Warning: preg_split() expects parameter 2 to be string, array given in /home/totalnut/public_html/wp-includes/formatting.php on line 227
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/totalnut/public_html/wp-includes/formatting.php on line 229
Warning: implode(): Invalid arguments passed in /home/totalnut/public_html/wp-includes/formatting.php on line 279
Hello,
Sorry, but the problem isn’t with our theme, but with the code your client is copying. We don’t know how that site is created and why such code is copied. You can recommend him to write descriptions manually.
To fix the errors on category pages you need go to Products > Categories > open category and re-save it. Errors will disappear. The problem is related to changes made in category header editor.
Thank you.

Eva Kemp.
Okay, but what about this error?
https://www.8theme.com/topic/woocommerce-categories-widget-toggling/
I thought it was permanently fixed…
Thanks
Hello,
Do you want close the first category on the shop page?
