Hi,
I’ve just updated to theme 9.1.1 and plugin 5.1.1 and I now get an orange exclamation mark against xStore server requirements. When I check this menu option I get a critical failure message (and email from WordPress). The actual website appears to be Ok as far as I can see, but I can’t access the customiser or other xStore areas without getting the critical failure message.
I’ve checked the PHP and other parameters with my hosting providers control panel and all look fine against xStore requirements.
Can you help please?
Thanks
Ian
I’m also getting the following message, ‘We are unable to connect to the XStore API with the XStore theme. Please check your SSL certificate or white lists.’ I’m following this up with my hosting provider.
Thanks
Ian
Hello.
I’ve heard from my hosting provider and they have requested I find out the hostname or IP addresses used to connect to the xStore API. They should then be able to check if they can connect to these from their servers, since its intermittent. They’re not sure if there are multiple IP addresses that could be used and there could only be an issue with one of them.
Thanks
Ian
Hello, Ianbarker24,
Thank you for contacting us and for using XStore.
Please contact your hosting provider and ask them if they block outgoing/ingoing connections to our server 136.243.62.54
Also, ask them to fix this memory error on your site – https://prnt.sc/gvGTpG3GaUqi

Hi Rose,
My hosting provider has confirmed that they can make a connection to the ip adress from their server.
The memory errors in your link are all from back in March when a different hosting provider was being used for the development site – now on the live site.
They ask could it be the PHP version or something else with the environment? Are you able to take a look please? It all stems from the theme and plugin update this morning. In fact the WordPress (Your Site is Experiencing a Technical Issue) email pointed to the following location where the error was caught https://beaconsfieldgallery.co.uk/wp-admin/update.php?action=update-selected&plugins=et-core-plugin%2Fet-core-plugin.php&_wpnonce=d15d20050d
Thank you
Ian
Sorry Rose,
I meant to add the following from the WordPress email,

Hello, Ianbarker24,
Thank you for your response.
What page should we open to being able to see the problem?
We’ve checked customizer, menu settings, XSrore dashboard, and frontend and do not see the problem.
Kind Regards,

Good Morning Rose,
I’ve checked this morning and no sign of any problems now.
The only thing I did before shutting down last night was change the PHP version to 8.1 from 7.4. I was still seeing the issues even then though.
It is really wierd, could it have been a browser caching issue of some sort? The website was fine throughout but the Shop Manager who was logged in at the time I updated the theme and plugin was getting problems too when he tried to edit products.
There was a real problem at some point when the xstore core plugin was updated as you can see from the WordPress technical fault email error message. Does this provide any clues?
Anyway I think I need to do the next xstore update on a staging server just to make sure it isn’t going to affect the site. I have two other live xstore websites in a different environment and they appear to have updated without issue.
Thank you as always for your support.
Best regards
Ian
Hello, Ianbarker24,
Yes, it could be cache issue.
We always recommend our customers update theme and plugins on their staging websites first to check if everything is ok because even after hard testing from our side it happens in some cases when errors are coming from “nowhere” (could be because of customer’s high PHP version/changes in child-theme/active plugins on website)
In case you will need any assistance, feel free to ask us on our forum.
Kind Regards,
