Hi, I am experiencing a couple of issues with your new theme. I set up the brand new grocery theme and imported the demo.
1. I have imported the demo content, but the categories section is NOT being automatically created
2. I have tried creating the categories manually, and on two occasions this crashed my site. I can’t attach the screenshot for some reason so I have copied and pasted the error message.
The sequence of events was this;
1. I added a new section on Elementor, then added the 8Theme categories element
2. I added product categories individually
3. When I hit save, I saw the Server error 500 or something along those lines… please advise
Hello,
Please update XStore Core plugin – https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/plugins/plugins-update/
Regards
Hi, I thought I had the latest version of the plugin, but anyway I deleted and re-uploaded the core plugin and activated it.
I have pasted the long error message but you can also go to my website and see it doesn’t look right.
Thanks
Thanks for the reply.
Provide temporary wp-admin and FTP access, so we can take a closer look.
Create an account via Dashboard (Users > Add new) with administrator role http://prntscr.com/s3rc9m > provide us with username and password via the Private Content area http://prntscr.com/s5mao7 You can use any email for it.
If you do not know how to create FTP contact with your hosting provider, they will help you.

Hi, can I use the same license code to set up a staging area? I would like to do this in a separate staging area please.
Thanks
Hello,
Yes, you can create staging site (copy of the production) using the same license.
Regards
Hi, it took some time to set up the staging area. I have imported the demo.
As you can see the category section isn’t there in the imported content. So if you ass a new section in Elementor and the category element, then add the category ID manually you should get the error.
I am happy to do this, but I thought you might want to recreate the issue at your end. Please let me know if you want me to create the issue.
Regards,
Aadhil
Hello,
Thanks for the reply.
Provide temporary FTP access, then I will pass this question to our dev team. If you do not know how to create FTP contact with your hosting provider, they will help you.

I’ve added categories and do not see the problem, please check – https://prnt.sc/sP9fBxa-rldv
Product Categories can’t be imported with exactly the same hierarchy and images, but you can delete demo categories and add your own.

Yes, sorry about that, here you go
Ok, I think this happened when I tried adding categories via the ‘Parent ID’ section. Do you want me to try it or will you try?
We can see the error now. Please do not edit content right now there. I will let you know once it will be solved. But why did you want to set parent category id https://prnt.sc/ZWLyPB4Lkhjv when there were no sub-categories ( https://prnt.sc/KxGp5UXIYvg1 compare https://prnt.sc/eRRZQJFqzbof ) ?
Regards
Hi, I have not created the sub categories in the staging site. The live site has it.
Hello,
Fixed. Changes were done in et-core-plugin/app/controllers/elementor/general/categories.php
The file you can download from this page – https://dropmeafile.com/#6482c0d0f7
The fix will be included in the next update too.
Regards
Thanks. I uploaded the new categories.php file to the live site, but is still showing errors and looks like a mobile webpage. Do I need to update any paths?
Please create this problem on the staging site and let us know.
Try to delete the categories element from the live site and add it one more time.
Regards
Hi, I tried adding a new category on the staging site and came across the same error https://prnt.sc/3m0mz5-47B9T
Now the site still loads up but when I click edit with elementor I just see a blank grey screen https://prnt.sc/FNIbbtLHYwTt
So I am not able to recreate the exact issue experienced in the live site until this is resolved. I have also tried clearing the cache just to be sure, and it is still the same.
Hello,
I passed issue to our developers. I’ll inform you once they fix the issue.
Regards
Hi, do you have an update please? Is this a problem with this particular demo, or the xstore categories element? I am trying to determine if it is safe to proceed with setting up the site as I don’t want to risk losing all the work.
Hello,
Sorry for the delay in answering. Check now, please.
Regards
