Hamburger menu not working on mobile – 4 days waiting for fix

Hi,

I first reported this on 22nd, (topic 295948) since then you have rolled back my WordPress version to 5.7.2 (which did not correct the problem) and then reinstated it to V5.8 and updated the theme to 8.0.2 on the production site but it still isn’t working. At that point you stopped replying and I have now been 4 days without my mobile website working properly.

However my staging site which has the same versions WP 5.8 and the theme I updated today to 8.0.2, works perfectly.

Problems I have now on production site are:

1. The hamburger menu is not working on mobile .

2. When you first choose an option on a product page, the box is black before the sizes come into view and the ‘add to cart’ button goes blank once clicked.

3. The currency converter in the top bar has also disappeared. It was there after the theme update, and still there when I first updated WordPress to 5.8 but today it is not displaying.

You can see on staging site staging5.swankypins.co.uk the differences and how it works okay.

Please can you let me know what is happening, I see other topics with same problem are also unanswered.

Take our apologies for the delay in answering. We have a lot of requests these days.

1) What device do you use? Could you, please, provide us with video of the issue? Try to check the site using an incognito window.

2) I don’t see any issues with the selector or add to cart button https://gyazo.com/a632b1d26de5931b2a6cb7eab0c4979b Provide us with video of the issue.

3) Currency switcher just was missing in widget area. Readded the widget. Check bnow, please.

Hi,

Thank you for re-adding the currency switcher. Not, sure why it disappeared but that did not happen when I updated the staging site.

I always check everything using an incognito window and I always check in Chrome, Firefox and Edge – all show the same results. What is happening is that on the products drop down menu quickly flashes black before the size options show. It didn’t used to do that. When you click ‘add to cart’, it should show a white tick in the box after the button is clicked (as in your photo and on my staging site), but all I see in all 3 browsers is a blank box. I don’t know how to send a video?

The hamburger menu is definitely not working on mobile. I see your screenshot where it is working, but I have asked a number of people to check on their phones (iphone safari & Android Chrome), and all tell me the hamburger menu does not work. I do not understand how you could see it, but if the majority of people including myself cannot access this menu there must be a problem.

I tried to use that but it asks for an email or SMS address to send it to?

Also I tried to video someone pressing the hamburger menu on their mobile. Not only was I unable to send that video, but it doesn’t really need a video – or even a screenshot.

The hamburger menu just doesn’t work. You press the hamburger icon on the mobile and nothing happens. The menu doesn’t appear. I don’t think you need a video to understand this. I see there are a few other people saying they have the same issue.

I can provide a screenshot of the menu/add to cart button issue once you can let me know where / how to send it.

Now it is the end of the month, which is normally my busiest time but customers cannot access product via mobile. Please can you check what is going on here, this has now been a problem for 5 days since update. Thanks, Debbie

That’s why we ask video to find out your actions. What model of mobile do you use?

Try to disable JS minification on your site https://prnt.sc/1gz6k68, clear plugin cache, also, don’t forget to clear the CDN cache (because I see that you use CloudFlare CDN https://prnt.sc/1gz9847 ) and test after that. Then try to enable it again, clear caches and check again.

Hi,

Yes, thank you so much – finally all the problems I had are now resolved. I still find it strange that I did not have this problem on the staging site which is set up exactly the same but for now everything is working – the hamburger menu, the search dropdown and the blank ‘add to cart’ button 🙂 Debbie

Hello,

It’s a mobile cache issue. We renamed the minified js file of theme scripts uploaded it to your site and that’s why it works now. The staging site was not cached on your mobile device that’s why it works.
