    Hi good day to all.

    was wondering if we could get some assistance on the the space between the revolution slider and the top header. We’d like for our sites header space to look more like the following demo link https://www.8theme.com/demo/idstore/

    Right now we have a little too much space between our header and revolution slider within the home page.

    Could someone point out where to add the short code within the custom css file?

    We’ve aldo provided our wp-admin credentials in private content. You can view our “Homepage” setup to see what we are trying to accomplish

    Please, contact administrator
    for this information.

    Hello,

    You’re using a big size of the logo image. You should change it to another or add this code in custom.css file

    .header-type-variant5 .logo {
        min-width: 110px;
    }

    Here is a video tutorial how to create custom.css: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qok2zRedRMY&feature=youtu.be.

    Robert good day!

    Thank you so much for that pointer on the size of our clients logo. We re-sized it and that helped alot with our header to revolution slider space. No Need for the custom.css thanks for the suggestion.

    Can we ask one other question here regarding another topic or should we open up a new ticket?

    Okay great. We currently have our shop page setup but not quite the way we’d like for it to function technically and visually. What we are trying to accomplish is fairly simple actually but if you can point us in the right direction to get that set up that would be great:

    How do we get our shop link to show a dropdown of 4 categories of items within our homepage.
    Dress, Tops, Skirts, Accessories would be the categories?

    Once established how do we get each category to display the 4 column look much like this example https://www.8theme.com/demo/idstore/?min_price=0&max_price=540&post_type=product&cols=4 with left sidebar once each link is clicked into?

    Hello,

    You need create categories in wp-admin panel > Products > Categories and add Woocommerce Product Categories widget to “Product Page sidebar” area in Appearance > Widgets, then sidebar with categories will be shown on your shop page.

    Looks like we already created product categories, but for some reason when we try to add the widgets to create sub pages under the shop page nothing appears within the menu section. It just shows as categories within the admin and appearances level.

    Please advise

    Hello,

    As I see you added Shop item as custom link http://storage4.static.itmages.com/i/16/0330/h_1459324054_7431171_9d84220a7a.png , add it from Pages section http://storage7.static.itmages.com/i/16/0330/h_1459324098_5420083_e80c5ab147.png .
    Also please show a screenshot what you want to achieve so we understand it better.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

    I’ve enabled product categories in Screen Options at the top in Appearance > Menus http://storage7.static.itmages.com/i/16/0330/h_1459349681_6505715_6bee3a6bed.png and now Product Categories section is shown http://storage3.static.itmages.com/i/16/0330/h_1459349759_8512002_11808ea099.png . I’ve added categories to parent Shop item. Please check menu now.

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson.

    THANK YOU once again for pointing that out. Didn’t realize the “screen options tab at the very top of the page in which we could select the product categories. Drop-down options for shop page looks good. We did notice that the banner within the category page is no longer there
    We are getting there with the site. Thanks again.

    The only other area we’d like to tackle would be the footer area. Where do we find the actual text to edit or remove?

    Also how do we add social media links and icons to the site?

    Hello,

    You need create footer in Appearance > Widgets and add your widgets to Footer areas. Please check the documentation https://www.8theme.com/demo/docs/idstore/index.html#!/widgets (sections “The First Footer Widget Area” – “The Eighth Footer Widget Area”).

    To add social icons you have to use some plugin (search for it on WordPress site).

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson.

    Thanks Jack for the response, we were able to add some of our clients content in place of the demo footer. Wanted to know if it was possible to add our clients Instagram photos in place of the Flickr section. If that’s not possible how do we remove the Flickr section from the footer completely?

    Hopefully there is a way to swap out the flickr section for Instagram. Please kindly advise.

    Hello,

    To add Instagram widget you need search for some plugin as our theme doesn’t contain it.
    To remove demo Flickr widget you need add empty Text widget to the footer area where it’s displayed.

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson.

    Good day Jack. Thanks for the response, we tried the empty text widget yesterday but for some reason the “flickr” heading was still showing within the footer. Anyhow, we managed to clear out the flickr section all together. As for the Instagram widget we’ll search fro the plugin and hopefully it does what we need in place of the flickr widget.

    Thank you again so much for your help thus far, you’ve been tremendous!
